• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. RT622 Grease Seals

I'm getting ready for a 10 day trip through Texas to eat all the BBQ and Texas Red I can find lol. So I remember a post from Joe about checking the grease on the trailer and decide I better do that before leaving tomorrow. So I pop one hub off and the grease is a bit runny and dark on the inside so I go to the auto parts store to get new grease seals before removing the old ones. I get a couple the right inside diameter 1.5" and the right outside diameter 1.987" and go back home. I pop the old grease seal out and open the box and hmm it's a bit different as it is thicker. So I open the other box and it is the right seal. So I replace the one seal then go back to town to get another correct seal... after visiting all the auto parts stores with no luck I start looking on my phone and find the correct Napa seal Part # NOS 14824 and go back to the first auto parts store and finally get the correct seal. If you have not changed the grease in your RT622 you might want to...

Doing mine today

Been putting around the past few days and should be finishing up the 622 wheels today. I'll have to double check the sells, but I ordered mine from etrailer so I hope I'm good.

Yea, you usually damage them seals removing them as well as remove the sealer from the OD as they come out. I used a rubber hammer to knock them in.

How much grease in hub

When reassembling the hubs, how much grease do you use in the hub? I have heard everything from fill it to capacity to any more than what the bearings will hold is wasted.

A reliable mechanic friend said he uses about a 1/3 of the hub capacity as a general rule of thumb.

Not necessary to fill the Hub nor does the RT622 manual state that. Word of caution: Bearing Buddies do not get grease to the Rear bearing. Also you will not be able to

use the existing nice dust cap. Just pack the bearings by hand every 3000-5000 miles. The manual states every 7000 miles. Also I would check the bearings carefully for

damage each time. As JT stated you might have to change the rear seals. Use a piece of wood or a hammer handle with a rubber hammer to remove and the rubber

hammer to install.

Thank you all.

Much appreciated guys. Now I can reassemble and move on to the next distraction until this stupid halo is off!

Too funny

Brent, get a copy of the trailer manual. There is a set procedure on how to tighten the bearings. Might be worth a read to prevent trashing a bearing and destroying an axle.

That was my next post, is asking if you might now where I can get a copy of the manual for a 2010 622?
