RT622 Cargo Nets & Spare Tire Bag

Recently got the Cargo Net accessory for the RT-622 trailer, and it was pretty straightforward and simple to install. There is some drilling in the rear trim panels, and might have needed to drill into the floor except my trailer had the necessary anchors already installed (I suspect that most will). The floor track and nets are nice and sturdy and seems like they'll do a great job holding things in place. The package also included two side storage bags (removable) that attach along the rear sides in a vertical manner.

I opted for the spare tire bag as well (sold separately), as I wanted to protect the tire as well as secure it. I tried locating the tire up front in the trailer, but preferred it in the rear part of the trailer instead, since it interfered with the forward net.

Overall, very high quality materials for both of these accessories. It was well engineered and installation was very simple and straightforward. Nice job, BRP!

Nice! Thanks for the report. The bag (or a cover) for the spare is always a good idea, because the small stuff you want doesn't fall through the holes then, necessitating removal of the spare to fetch your tools or cargo. Good place to store a jack and/or lug wrech, too, without banging up your other stuff.

Be flexible with the location of the spare. It is a good tool to help adjust the trailer tongue weight, by moving it forward or back. You want a minimum of 10%-15% of the loaded trailer weight on the tongue, for good handling. You should not exceed the 40 pound rating, though.

Good points Scotty, watching the trailer weight and distribution to get proper tongue weight is very important for safe handling performance.

I'll be using another soft bag for the tools I like to carry as the tire bag is a very tight fit around the tire - no chance to put anything more inside without risk of not being able to zip it closed.

On the bottom side of the bag there is a high grip rubbery surface to provide more sliding resistance. This would be helpful in the case where you used the tire cover without the Cargo Net system floor track to anchor it to. Also, the four metal anchors at the end of the straps are rubber coated, and the straps are very sturdy and strong, with quality stitching to the bag.

Now it's time to load up the trailer and see how well the system works holding things in their place....

I removed the tray as it was obstructing the view of what I was trying to photograph.

I'm surprised your dealer doesn't have yet. Mine here in Brighton, MI got their first ones in about 3 weeks ago, and have been getting a steady stream since then. Your dealer should be able to get it within a couple of days, I'd think.

Had planned to go, even had a room reserved at Wagon Wheel.... but just couldn't get things worked out to get free, so will be anxiously watching the posts and videos instead.

Since the trailer is now all set and ready to go, we may head up to our cabin in Lewiston sometime in next few weeks to test it out.

FYI Water Management System

I went to my dealer the other day to pickup my tray kit and was told that even though I had a letter stating that I was to get the kit and install it myself (or pay the dealer) they would not give it to me. They produced a service bulletin from BRP that stated that they were to install it under warranty along with fixing a couple of other items. I argued to no avail and finally relented and I will return with the trailer later after they get the very expensive glue required to fix the loose carpet and have them install free of charge. Unfortunately I did not get a copy of the bulletin. I don't know if anyone on this forum has access to those. Some have already been posted in pdf by Lamont.

Interestingly enough, the Service Manager at my dealership today asked me how the install of the water management kit went. I told him fine, and he then asked if I had any drooping carpet to complain about, as there was a service bulletin they'd gotten about it. I did in a few spots, but fixed it by relocating the Velcro patches to avoid the drooping unsupported areas.

I got the sense that if I hadn't installed the water management kit, he might have insisted they'd do it, like your dealer, don't know for sure though.

I think dealers are wanting to exploit a warranty chargeback opportunity, with the ultimate objective of pleasing the customer, of course!!(?).
