• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S Trunk lid POP!

The wife has noticed sometimes when she closes her rear trunk on the RT that it pops. It is like it is in a bind and something releases the pressure when closing it.

Is this normal or should I have a dealer look at it?

You should just here a click when the latch closes. Make sure nothing is binding the hinge arms. If all looks good I would let your dealer look at it if it's under warranty.

You might take it back to your dealer. Thats what I have to do. My rear trunk led won't stay closed even when I lock it. Nothing gets wet when I'm driving. Just the light flashing telling me that the trunk is open bothers me. My front trunk release button does not work also. My back latch has to be changed. It's the only fix for that. Trivial problems. RT-S runs great:thumbup:

There was a thread on this issue, golly, some time way back in 2010. The fella did something with the 4 screws that surround the "runk" latch assembly and did some other things. It solved the problem for him.

As for me? Well I along with many others have difficulty securely latching the "runk". What I do is close it down and then give it a light "pop" with the side of my hand balled up. I usually get good results that way. I might add that THAT is what I do with the side compartments as well.
