• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S rear airbag auto adjust

My rear auto air suspension stopped working. I can manually adjust it, but it seems it doesn't want to adjust itself. Had the update stuff done to it last year and worked fine. It does hold air, just noticed it wasn't making that
"psst" sound anymore when riding it. Called dealership and they have no clue but would look into it before bringing it in. Thought I'd throw it out here to see if anyone else has experienced this. Maybe a sensor?

A 'pssst' isn't everything

I have an RT-S with the same auto-adjust. When I first started ryding last year, mine it did the 'psst' for several ryding sessions. After a while, it went quiet. I like a firm ryde and I had my auto-adjust set to the second square from the top on the read-out console. The point is, that once the Spyder senses your weight, as long as you keep the rear cush setting the same, it's not going to activate again unless it needs to re-charge. But as you say, if it's holding pressure, it won't need to for long periods if if any during the season; also, some of the adjustment happens while you're moving at RPM; so you won't hear it ... Hence, no 'pssst.'

Now an experiment might be, with everything the same, ryde two-up with someone. Theoretically, the additional person will cause the air bag to need to release. You should hear a period of 'pssst' while it adjusts to the new load. Finally, I brought my Spyder out of winter storage a few weeks ago, and also had a service done, where the Spyder was in the shop for three weeks (mostly because of it 'napping' there during the snow). When I got it back and took my first shakedown ryde, there was several minutes of 'pssst' 'pssst'. It has since now ebbed away. Dealer says the system is working fine.

Hope this helps ease the concern.

The RTS air suspension works off a ride-height sensor. As long as the ride height remains at the chosen setting, and there are no leaks, you should not hear the "hiss" to lower the suspension, or the compressor running to raise the suspension. If you always use the highest setting, there should be no hiss. If you do not change the load, and there are no leaks, the compreesor should not run. Another necessity is for the Spyder to be in gear. The air suspension is not supposed to adjust in neutral, or without the engine running.

The best way to see if the adjustment is working, is to have another person stand to the side and observe or measure the Spyder height in the rear (I suggest the bottom of the rear fender as a reference point), as you have it running, and in gear, and you change the setting from lowest to highest and vice versa. There should be a noticeable and measurable difference between the settings, whether or not you hear the hiss or the compressor. If the height does not change, see your dealer.

Thank you all for the input! I'll test with a 2nd person on back. Was just so use to it adjusting before with just me on it (maybe that was not normal to begin with :dontknow: ). But other than that, it's been doing great and I'll just keep on ryding!!!

Got it fixed. When the dealership replaced my dashboard unit, they forgot to reset the cluster. They finally figured it out today. Hooked her up to the computer and "got r dun"! Feel complete now! :2thumbs:
