There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S is here....nearly

I went to the South Texas Motorcycle show this morning and dropped by my dealer's display. There was a red RT sitting along with other bikes. I saw the owner and his wife and asked "Is that my Red Rocket on display?" They said, "Oh no, your's is being unpacked and put together back at the shop and it will be ready Tuesday." We got our shipment in and we got two red RT's, this one is a SM5 and your SE5.

I am sure glad she told me that as about that time, a little south Texas dumplin' climbed on the demo....she was 260 if she was an ounce....I would not be a good dealer because I would have told that moose to get off the scoot....

My dealer said, "George, go ride a Spyder demo, the Spyder truck is over there", pointing behind a building. Make sure you ride before you leave! I said "Okay" and went over and signed up. I went and rode and when I finished they gave me a $500 gift cirtificate toward any clothing or accessories. I asked if that was good toward my XM radio and she said "Yes, it is. I could not tell you until you rode the Spyder". I asked, "may I ride again?" She said "no".

They had 10-12 RS and RT's to ride and lots of folks signing up.

One of the Can-Am guys knew Lamont and spoke highly of him. I agreed. I had a good time.

This was a RT demo. It was cloudy, but it is fire engine red....oh my heart....

Glad your red beauty will soon be ready for you to pick up, George. I can relate since about this time last year I was waiting for my silver RT to arrive. Waiting is tough.

By the description of that gal on the RED demo I'm surprised the tires weren't flat in George's picture.

The $500 was a real surprise. I am not sure the RT will be saleable after the "dumplin'" jumped on it...ha ha

This is the first 2011 RT that I had ridden. Before, they were 2010s. This was different and I kept comparing to my Gold Wing trike that I rode to the show.

First impression...eight mile demo ride...max speed 40mph in city streets.

My Wing has a 4.5 degree rake kit to make steering easier. It is still heavy compared to the RT. RT steering is much more sensitive to input. As you get up to speed on a Wing you get the gyro effect on the front tire...the RT will change quickly with VERY little input. They are different and easy to get used to. Braking..much better. I did not get a chance to brake hard, but did as best as I could when the Can-Am guys were not looking....

Gold Wing trikes run 41 pounds in the front tire....20-28 in the rear depending on personal preference. RT front softer and smoother on pot holes and railroad tracks.

The RT was quieter, but I have Cobra's on my Wing....and love them. Shifting did not seem to be as smooth as I can shift my Wing. I was riding the SE5 and shifts were noticable. Note to self, practice for 100 miles or so.

Overall, it is a hell of a machine. I will have to enlarge my kitchen door so I can get it into the family room...other than that, it is a winner. As word spreads and Wings get higher in price, the Spyder will become very popular. (The earthquake will have some effect on Wing prices...it already has on Japanese built cars...the dealers won't deal)

I asked the CA guy "How many computers are in these scoots?" Seven on the SM5 and eight on the SE5! I guess I won't be able to work on the Red Rocket like I did on my 1950 Ford flathead....duh.

George, which one will you be riding to the Texas Trike Reunion ?

I will ride "Red" to the reunion. Only two of those folks know I bought a RT so I will suprise them as they are used to seeing the Orange Crush. I will ride it up to Kerrville Wednesday afternoon to meet and greet, ride the hills Thursday and Friday and return to Boerne Friday night.

Saturday morning I will ride with my group, the Hill Country Road Riders for breakfast and then return to Kerrville around 3 pm for the picnic...then home Sat. night. The following Tuesday I will head to South Texas Suzuki for my 600 as I will be over the 600 miles at that point, around 800+ as I figure my ride routes...all we do it eat, ride and talk trikes....no vendors, sales booths, doo rags, etc....

George I feel your pain. I have been waiting two months for my Red
RT. Dealer says end of April. HE got one end of March but it was already
sold.

Teddy, Please tell Dave I will not be able to attend the Fest. I stick fairly close to home as the wife is not as well as she was 53 years ago when she asked me to marry her...shhhhh, I lie. She has not ridden with me for several years. She did say, she would take a short ride down the ranch roads on Red, but that was about all. You guys have a ball and say hi to all for me. Teddy, keep an eye on Dave, you guys are going to a wild part of Missouri....

Teddy, the other day I asked the wife what she would do if I left her. She said I would take everything you own except a pair of shorts and a portable CB radio. I asked, a pair of shorts and a portable CB....she said "Yes, shorts to cover your small private life and a CB so you can hear me and my boyfriend talking on the Orange Crush CB as we ride by on the way to a rally, and after you pay for the 600 mile oil change on your new RT, we will come get too."!

Teddy, I truly love that woman.
