• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT-S Handlebar Covers gets hot - Normal / Not Normal ?

I have noticed from time to time, the handlebar black covering seems to get very hot at times. At first I thought it was the sun, but having owned plenty of motorcycles over the years, I don't think this is the case.

Has anyone experienced this and should I be concerned. Got over 10,000 on our 2015 RT-S and just getting around to asking about it. Too busy riding :D

The only thing that could cause them to get hot, that's part of the bike... would be an electrical problem.
Since you haven't reported anything of that nature: it has to be just the Sun, that's causing it...
How many bikes have you had, with black handlebars? :dontknow:

Accidently bumped the heated Grips-ON. I have done this a few times when releasing the parking brake!

I agree with Bob; it's got to be the sun. If anything electrical generated the amount of heat I feel on hot, sunny days I'd have fried wires.

My first thought was

"Accidently bumped the heated Grips-ON."

Next thought Electrical problem if it is hotter than you would expect.

If just hotter than you like them but no other problem ................. call spyderpops and order some foam grips.

I need to clarify what gets hot...maybe. It is not the grips that get hot, it is the black risers to the grips that seem to get ordinately hot at times. No smell of melting wires, no effect to the Spyder operations. I would tend to agree it is the sun, but this is not always the case. I was just wondering if others have felt them warmer than what you would expect from the sun
