I know yur NOT an Imax fan, but you might like the set-up on Teds Red Sled. Its what you w
ant, just not the all-in-one package that you hoped you'd find. I haven't found it either, but this works well for us. All depends on if you have an RT or RS to mod. On the RT-S & LIMITED, you can unplug the analogue gas & temp. gauges & they will then show up in digital form on the intrument Clusters LCD screen on the LEFT & RIGHT sides. On the base RT & RT-AC, they already show on the LCD & you only have blank caps where the anologue gauges would have been. We then went to Bass Pro shops & looked thru there assortment of Ram Mounts that they carry in stock. Got one with a 3 nch arm 22 mounting balls. Right around the corner, in their Marine Department, we picked up a swivel cup-holder made for boats. About $20 & $15 if I remember correctly. We used the ram-mount on the left side, attached with 4 nuts & bolts to an aluminum backing plate we fashioned to behind the RTs dash. Was pretty easy to do & works like a charm for the cup-holder.
Then we picked up a "Universal" gadget holder from Verizon Wireless for around $20. It has a 3M sticky pad mount that is VERY strong & durable. This is my 2nd one on as many Spyders & we've NEVER had an issue with it holding solid over 2 years of use now. Tho to he fair, I met another member that had the same setup as we did, but his "gadget" holder was mounted on his handelbars. When I ask
View attachment 34832ed him, "Why there?" he said one day that his young daughter was getting on the byke & accidently "kicked it" & it came flying off, so he didn't "trust" that mounting position anymore. Well, yeah, if you kick it, its gonna pop off -LOL But under "normal" use & wear, its been solid for us. We have it mounted to the only "FLAT" spot of tupperware that is easily visible & accesible from the drivers seat & thats at the very TOP part of the Glove-compartment on the RT. If you have an RS, sorry, none of this helps, but IM sure some RS ryders will chime in with their solutions & suggestions.
I'm not saying this is the BEST or ONLY set-up, but it was relatively cheap (under $60 for everything) & easy for me to do myself, saving even more $$ I hope this makes sense & helps & if you want or need more details, just send me a pm.
GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN
