• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Parking brake

I have a 2010 RT SE with a parking brake that won't work, does NOT engage, can't hold the bike on any incline. I called Cowtown( I am in Wisc) they said go to a good dealer. There is a "premier" dealer in Tomahawk Wi not far from Merrill where I am staying. So I go to Tomahawk, talk to and explain no parking brake. He starts in on calipers being possibley the problem. States no chance of getting me in "today" as there's a 2 wk wait list. Personally I think He didn't want somebody from out of state/area & not one of his customers. That's the feeling I got anyway. When i called back to Cowtown and told Kevin what the man said he stated the guy didn't know what he was talking about. I agree. I may not know a lot about brakes but I do know that the calipers and the parking brake are alot more seperate than the Service manager said. But I can't take off the plastic to get to the brake to fix it. Kevin said would take about 30 min. Also said no problem with traveling on. Just have to park it where it won't run into, over or thru something or someone. AND GET A BLOCK IN FRONT OR REAR OF A WHEEL! Anybody else have this problem?? oh and the little lite flashes and the beeping goes even tho it's supposed to stop if the brake is on. Soo I am unhappy with Tomahawk Motor sports. Understand if they are busy but think their "premier" status is questionable.

Wow... Premier dealer? Does not look like it to me...

This has come up once or twice. If memory serves it it was easy.. one of the electrical ends slipped off or the cable itself rolled off the wheel. In fact I think this happened to Lamont... I will go search it out...

Frankly if it is like Lamont's, you should be able to work it back on yourself as a temp fix....

Had the same issue last week, for the first time. The cable came off of the pulley. It may have been my fault though, since I engaged the brake switch before coming to a complete stop.

Pulled off the middle and lower panels on the right side and re attached the cable to the pulley. No problems since, but now I make sure the bike is completely stopped before engaging the parking brake.

Parking brake worry club

My parking brake quit working last week and after having it sit in the shop for a few days, the guys said they needed to order a part. Don't know if they were just stalling for time or if there is indeed a factory fix. Will let you know how it works out and what the part might be. Lamont's fix might indeed be what's needed for this seemingly chronic event.

Same problem

This spring had same problem....yep blocked wheel when stopped until could get into dealer to fix. Pulley issue...no problem since....sure did hate the screaming alarm on the down time...:yikes:

RT-S parking brake

Hey Thanks folks. Not sure I can pull off all the tupperware....... WELLLLL maybe I can........ but could I get it back on!!!!!! in the meantime will have to put a string on a brick or something and use that for a brake!! Me thinks I could only get it to work for a little while and then I would be in the wrong place at the wrong time and have it fail again!!! BUT do have list of "premier" dealers so will keep trying to get one who is actually a "premier" dealer. Thanks All.
