• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rt Floor Boards

in the summer months my black lining on my seal boards came off. I tried to Re-glue them but didn't work out.
Mine came off as well.I went out and bought 3M spray glue which is used for seat covers etc. Each side came upI used the 3M and this worked..I carry it with me and in the event of it happening again simply repsray the glue again.

I do know of one fellow that used the trunk liner and was happy. I'm sure you could give John and he could advise you! He is a great guy!
John is indeed a very helpful gentleman. He suggested to me as an alternative I could use the Rhino Coating.I must say The floorboards are great.I find them really comfortable to ride with.

Took your advice and emailed John. Got an immediate response. Rhino or Linex would work fine. John said he tried it on his first set but it was too expensive to pass on to his customers. So will give it a try.

My Floorboards were delivered with the liners edges not glued down. I contacted John and at his recommendation I used a clear silicon glue. Almost 8000 miles later they are still holding. Love the boards!

Well I'm happier than a pig in fresh...

RT Floorboards

I've been hearing that Diamond R Accessories are coming out with a new floorboard. I saw the prototype at Lamont's BBQ. I anxious to see the final result and the cost... I have some of their products and they're top quality!

And the $999 for the 2013 BRP floorboards are not? I paid $475 for Rivco floorboards on my RS and had to have a tech install them for $80. It is all a matter of what you want to spend your $$$ on. John (seals floorboard) did all of the design, fabrication production and distribution work so I did not have to. He stands behind his products, is responsive and spare parts are available at low cost. I suppose you could back engineer his design and build a set at lower cost but that is intellectual theft. There are many products out there that cost way more than the material cost. Replacement seats for example have about $25 of foam and vinyl on your seat pan in many cases and cost $$$$$

I not only designed them but I have a Patent Pending on among other things, how and where they are attached at the rear of the floorboard. I did put my life savings into Seal Floorboards and try to make the finest product I can at the best price I can. As with most of our other vendors, this is not a weekend hobby, it's a 24 hr. a day dedication. When there is a problem, I am there to try and make it better. My goal is to make it possible for all my Spyder pals to.....

Ride in comfort,

John

Look up Seal Floorboards in the vendor section. Lots of folks have then.

I have the seal floorboards on my RT. They are awesome. The "pegs" were the one thing I didn't like about the Spyder, and these floorboards solve that problem. They are an easy install, and super strong. I love 'em!

Interesting that you think this. And while I believe we are ALL entitled to OUR opinions, and I know I can't afford them myself, but just because I can't afford something, doesn't make it over-priced.

If you think Johns are over priced at $525, I'm curious what you think about BRPs new ones that are priced at $999.99 :yikes::shocked::dontknow: or Verticka's that are OVER $2 Grand :shocked::shocked::shocked:

:lecturef_smilie:Kinda makes Johns' look like a deal in comparison, at least to me ;)

I have to agree with you here. Even though I could afford the $525, I could never bring myself so spend that kind of money on floorboards. It is unfortunate that all bike accessories are so overpriced......

We're always more than free to keep our wallets in our pockets. ;)
I wouldn't be so quick to characterize "ALL BIKE ACCESSORIES" as overpriced though... It depends on what you want to accomplish on your bike, and what products features are most important...
Oftentimes it can be the costs of product liability insurance that can ultimatley raise product pricing to an unpopular level...
