• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rt Floor Boards

I have the seal floorboards and they work great. They run the full length from passenger to driver and turn up at the end for a sort high way peg feel.

Easy to fit, sturdy, you can move your feet around during a long ride.

There are some new floorboards coming out from BRP, that a smaller have some sort of flexible middle for a cushioned ride and collapse if you have to hit the foot brake hard.

As you can see I am in the Uk and have just ordered a set of Seal Floorboards which my mate is bring ing over from the US next week. So I will let you know.
I found my RT quite uncomfortable on long journeys particularly on the motorway. Top of the thighs were agony so I am hoping the floorboards will let me move around more and stretch a bit.
The guy at Seal, John was very helpful and would have shipped to the UK but the cost was about $200, plus of course VAT here if C and E intervene.
I am just trying to fit my trailer hitch now what a job if you have a normal seven pin european plug!

I installed Seal floorboards this summer. Highly recommend them! They increased the comfort level 100%, and I installed them myself! I hope you will enjoy yours as much.....and I agree, John is great!!!!:clap:

REALLY???

$525 is very much overpriced.......

Interesting that you think this. And while I believe we are ALL entitled to OUR opinions, and I know I can't afford them myself, but just because I can't afford something, doesn't make it over-priced.

If you think Johns are over priced at $525, I'm curious what you think about BRPs new ones that are priced at $999.99 :yikes::shocked::dontknow: or Verticka's that are OVER $2 Grand :shocked::shocked::shocked:

:lecturef_smilie:Kinda makes Johns' look like a deal in comparison, at least to me ;)

Not so at all. The competitive units are as much or more, and you still need highway pegs. With the Seal Floorboards, it's all in one, and they can be used by a passenger too.. I'm a big guy, and can stand up to stretch while ryding on the Seal boards….

And the $999 for the 2013 BRP floorboards are not? I paid $475 for Rivco floorboards on my RS and had to have a tech install them for $80. It is all a matter of what you want to spend your $$$ on. John (seals floorboard) did all of the design, fabrication production and distribution work so I did not have to. He stands behind his products, is responsive and spare parts are available at low cost. I suppose you could back engineer his design and build a set at lower cost but that is intellectual theft. There are many products out there that cost way more than the material cost. Replacement seats for example have about $25 of foam and vinyl on your seat pan in many cases and cost $$$$$

in the summer months my black lining on my seal boards came off. I tried to Re-glue them but didn't work out.
I commented on another thread some time ago about taking off the vinyl on the Seal floorboards and doing a Rhino or Linex bed liner spray on them. No one commented on it, wondering if there is any reason why I shouldn't?:f_spider:

Rhino does sound like it would look pretty neat. I've read where others are saying there linings came off as well. Those things do get a lot of heat coming off the road and the engine.

heres another board 385 plus shipping 45 doallers jmfloorboards

I do know of one fellow that used the trunk liner and was happy. I'm sure you could give John and he could advise you! He is a great guy!

:yes:Any one fitted RT floorboards.if so what are they like on long trip. Thanks Brian

The new Can AM RT Limited floorboards will not be available for a few months. I suspect that we will not hear any actual reviews on these floorboards until at least early in 2013 after the first RT Limited units roll off the production line, and Spyderlovers get a chance to put some serious miles on their new Spyders.

So any Spyderlover who buys a 2013 RT Limited in the coming months I really hope you will re visit this post and give Brian and the rest of us your review on these new boards.

I have full length Seal Floorboards on my 2011 RT LTD, I have ridden 11 straight hours, stopping for gas and pee, 5 of those 11 hours were in the rain, I could have gone another 2 hours but the guys that I was riding with were on Harley's, needless to say the floorboards were a big part making the ride comfortable.

The floorboards are also available with the RT-S model. However, they won't be fully "rolled off" until early January as you said.
