• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT flashes a Check Transmission warning light

VaughnCat

RT-S PE#783
I was going down the freeway after passing a couple semitrucks doing about 75-80 mph :2thumbs: and was back running about 70-75 in the right lane, when I noticed a red idiot light come on. Before I could read it, it went off, but then the panel lit up orange with the 'check transmission' warning screen. It remained lit for a few seconds then went off. I didn't hear or feel anything weird.

Within a mile or so, I took my exit and went on to my appointment. I thought it might display a code or something when I started it up again, but nothing. I ran it about 10 miles back home with no other indications.

What was that all about? :helpsmilie:
:yikes: other than scaring the pee-diddle outta me! :yikes:

We're leaving for vacation Friday afternoon :gaah:. . . .
and we're really hoping it was just a burp.

The RT has 11,000 miles on it and the dealer has done all the services and updates. (except for the brand-spanking new DPS recall)

"Check Transmission" indicates a problem with the Transmission Control Module or a related part. You probably no longer have any active fault codes to read to shed some light on it (Mode, Set & Turn Signal Cancel buttons simultaneously on the RT), so your dealer will have to look at the occurred fault codes via BUDS. There are a number of possibilities.

If there are any stored codes in there! Often there are not as stated here and elsewhere. Good Luck! Bill

Do we have a great dealer or what?
I emailed our dealer Ted around 9:00 last night when I posted this
and here's his response by email at 10:30 last night:

If you can bring it in, we will look at it on the spot.
I will talk with BRP in the morning, to see what they think.

I'll drive it over today and post a follow-up as soon as we know something.

Our first Spyder-vacation starts at noon tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed . . . .

Update after trip to dealer

BUDS found the following codes:

P0127 - ECM
P2806 - ECM
U1201 - TCM

Ted spoke to BRP tech and was advised to re-set gearbox position sensor and clear the codes. Said since the codes only flashed once, it was probably just a glitch. However, they also found the oil was a low (below the stick) and thought that could have been a factor as well.

They did a once over on the RT to make sure everything was ready for :yes:vacation mode:yes: and sent me on my way.

Cat :2thumbs:

P0127 - Intake air temperature too high
P2806 - Gear Position Sensor defined area vs position not plausible
U1201- Invalid gearbox position value received from ECM

Thanks Scotty. . . .

So, does that mean I was driving too fast or what ???? ;)
