• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT Dry Weight

I am a firm believer in reviewing as much technical information as possible to learn what I can about my machine. As such, I was reviewing the 2013 RT manual to see what changes have been made compared to my 2012. Most of the changes are, at this point, pretty much common knowledge. However, the one difference that surprised me is dry weight. The 2012 is listed at 928 lbs. The 2013 is listed as 955 lbs. Does anybody have any idea where the extra 27 lbs comes from ?

Just guessing... new designed front end & bigger Bemo brakes & maybe 15" rims and tires??? How about those floorboards?

A couple of possibilities, and none confirmed. It could be the new frame, it could be just a more realistic number. The only way to know the real deal would be to put one on the scales.

Have to agree..!!

With the gentlemen above. The new sway bar is much heavier, many of the new suspension parts, the bigger wheels, the modified frame etc. Sadly the only one who could tell you for sure would be BRP if they have the individual weight of all the components from year to year. If not the overall weight is..?? Imo

How come nobody has mentioned the extra 100 pounds that they found on the RS models??
I'mg just guessing; but I think that it's as much a matter of bringing the advertised weights more in line with what the scales truly show...

She's still as light as a feather; and even prettier than the day that you met her! :2thumbs:
That; and a nice bouquet of flowers ought to save you! ;)

The extra 27 lbs came from the two steering ball joints.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.
