• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT brake questions.......

1. Is 19,500 miles normal to wear out front brakes? (Pulls a trailer regularly, weighing about 500 lbs..)

I just replaced my front pads at 21,600; was told I probably could have gotten 500-1,000 more out of the originals but chose not to risk the discs. I do push the Spyder a lot in the mountain twisties.

Not trying to morph into a tire thread...but....

All is right in Spyder world again....My mechanic had theories about bent spindles, messed up bearings, ect....Could not believe it would be brand new tires causing that horrible issue....But we popped those crappy arachnids off and put a new set of Kenda factory tires on it and it rides like new again...tiny periodic shake in the windshield but always had that, almost unnoticeable, no shake in the handlebar.....and they are not even balanced yet.....So it is painfully obvious it was those arachnid tires all along as I suspected....Gonna pull them one more time and get them spin balanced to remove the tiny windshield shake and be done with it....

lesson learned.....

Sure glad to have it riding good again, wife is getting the itch to do some miles and I am gonna scratch it!

Yessir!

 I'm glad to hear that the culprit has been found!

me too, got em spin balanced and the Spyder has never rolled so smooth or handled so good! Brakes are top knotch now too...Zero stability issues now.....Lovin it!.

We have about 31,000 mi. on ours and still have a little more then 1mm of pad left on all 3, and we pull a trailer fully loaded. But....I will be calling Baja Ron in the next month to order all 3.

We had some pad left and could have gone 1000's more miles likely, and for the life of me cannot understand the strange pull to the left and braking stability issue.....There seems to have been no explainable reason....But whatever it was the new brakes fixed it completely...Put 130 miles on it today going to Biloxi MS to do a boiler inspection and thoroughly enjoyed every little mile! Gonna be fun in the Ozarks in June.....
