RT-622 Trailer leaking

We just got back from a long trip and it rained quite a bit. First real trip with the trailer and it leaked the entire time. Didn't think to spray water on it to water test it before we left. Just figured it was good to go. Its a 2010 model with the water kit installed. I bought it last month brand new. Any suggestions?

Mine leaks like a sieve, too. Like you, I never checked. I have not tried to test or adjust the lids yet. Best method is probably similar to the one used for automobile trunks. Cut a length of paper and shut it in the lid in various locations. If it can be pulled out readily, the lid sits too high in that location. Latch adjustments can help if there is no serious lid warping. Sometimes the hinges have to be shiimed or bent to make auto trunks seal. Not sure if that is possible on the RT-622. Thanks for the reminder that I have to check my lid and fix it.

It should still be under warranty since I just bought it. Actually, I need to see how long the warranty is, lol. I know the dealer will probably not want to work on it since I didn't get it from them. Or give me, " adjustments are not covered under warranty" spill.

We've used ours in lots of rain and only have had very minor leakage. So they don't "have to" leak, if that's any comfort.

Mine doesn't leak and it has lots of rainy miles on it. I didn't buy mine locally either and my dealer has worked on it (the locks) a few times under warranty with no problem.

The amount of money that BRP wants for the RT 622 trailers they should not leak at all !!! The dealers should be checking for water leaks and adjusting the lids for customers.

I just washed my 622 and it leaks up in the front. Called the dealer and they told me to bring it in morning.

So, if the gasket is properly aligned and the covers are hinged properly, then it won't leak. In other words, it can be set up so that it does not leak. If it does leak, something is probably wrong with the gasket and/or the closing of the covers.

Keep the lids unlatched when not in use will keep the gaskets from compressing. This seems to help. A very light coating of Vaseline on the gasket might also help.
