• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I dropped of my RTS at my dealer to take care of a few things and was given a 2012 RSS SE5. After spending the last year and a half on an RTS it's a totally different machine. I can now appreciate the following the RSS gets. The performance is just astounding compared to the RT. I can understand the difference in weight and slight difference in horse power but the thing is a rocket. It seemed very nimble, the steering was very responsive and turned on a dime. The Fox shocks were just ok compared to my newly installed Elka's and also seemed much softer than my Elka's set at 25. I just put the Elka's on last night so I really haven't put many miles on at all to make a real educated comparison. The riding position isn't for me, low, somewhat leaning forward and nothing like the RT but when you put your head down, floor it, the thing flies. Definately a rice rocket. I enjoyed being out in the elements, not so protected as an RT. Lastly, how come no one told me BRP finally fixed the turn signal switch ? The turn signal switch has a very positive feel when turning either side on and to turn them off there is no guess work, it canceled perfectly every time. It has a totally different feel than mine. It would be interesting to see if I could take the guts out of that switch and install it in my RTS. Tomorrow is supposed to be a great riding day and I hope to put a few more miles and see if I can get in some trouble.

Randy, even with the extra weight (what 109 lbs?) I don't understand why you didn't leave everyone in the dust????

When someone screams in your ear or punches you in the kidney, you will understand. :roflblack: Have fun with it, but be safe.:2thumbs:
I wonder why there are RS wheels on a RS-S ????????

I rode a GS for a month before purchasing my RTS in July of 2010. I had the GS in my garage for a few months and in October 2010 it was time to take it back. The first time I got back on it I thought wow I will really miss this. It sure was fun but riding it the 200 miles from MI to WI just reinforced why I love my RTS. In a perfect world it would be fun to have both one for kicking around town and the RT for long trips. But my world isn't perfect so the RTS is perfect for my needs.

Have fun and enjoy it while you have it but I don't think you'll be disappointed that you bought the RT.

Turn signal switch

Slightly off topic but I had the turn signal switch on my 2011 RTS replaced by the dealer about 1 week ago. The original one failed and sometimes would not shut off at all. The dealer said this is the new model and after they completed the installation we both agreed that it is much much better. The change out time is almost 2 hours as you need to get under all the plastic to make the connections and route the wires. Not sure of the cost for the switch but BRP made a great improvement when they went to it.

Dont know why everyone one is surprised you noticed this, it was my first reaction to the side view, the wheels are just screaming out that they do not belong on that bike.
