• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS Windshield options

I did a search. And found F1 and Chad to be most liked... But then die out. So what is the preferred windshield today for a good balance of sport and touring? :dontknow:

The CHAD and Madstad are the only adjustable ones, for both angle and height, which gives you some options to suit your particular needs. The Madstad Robo-Brackets can be used with any windshield, if you find you like another style better than the shield Madstad offers. The Givi is relatively inexpensive and good looking. The BRP Ultra Touring shields offer good hand protection, but need modification to work with mirror extenders. In the end, windshields are like seats. Everyone has different needs and different wants, and what is good for one is not so hot for another. It is a bit of a crap shoot to spend your money and hope for the best, I'm afraid. That is why I like the multiple possibilities an adjustable shield provides. Nancy has the CHAD, BTW.

I switch back and forth from stock to my BRP 25" which works great for me and i'am 5'6" The BRP 23" is just a little to short RNET and i are about same height and has the 23" and wishes he had the 25". The 25 i use for highway runs or cool weather or if i use my open face helmet PA has bugs the size of bats over their especially at dusk. By the way is anybody running the BRP 25" with the Madstad Robo-Brackets? anyone anyone bueller bueller

Your right, those two are real popular along with my choice the Madstad system, which more diffuses the air not totally blocking it. Do a search for more opinions...I do like mine because it retains a nice sporty look.

Looks like the Industries 7 web is still down.. Been trying all weekend so I can get a look.... :gaah:

I've been very pleased with the CHAD. My only reget, I think, is not getting the smoked screen. I have not owned any other screens.

The best result I have had is running the standard sports shield. Wearing the right gear in most conditions should take care of most situations and you still feel like you are driving a motorbike. I have tried two of the taller options, one being the BRP one and even though they feel nice against the wind, I felt I was in a videogame or something without the wind and the noise.
Each one to their own I guess

My hopes are for both worlds. Keep in mind I even drove my Spyder to my business today. And the temps are just fine around freezing. I have no issue with wind in my face in general...

Sometimes the headache is not worth the consistent wind slapping on a day long ryde though. Not to mention it is a lot nicer to have a windshield take the 80mph raindrops than my face sheild. I find the ryde far more pleasurable this way.

And it helps my wife that is partially disabled not get "Slapped" around by the wind.

calsci tallest is the one for me. Clear, I dont look through it just over. The wind goes over my head. $200.00 plus shipping. Rides just like my wife's brp 25".

I own a F-1 Queen it's fat and wide with a slider on top I just installed Robo-Brackets on it last Tuesday and now I love my Windshield but I don't think u can buy F-1's anymore unless u buy one used I heard the company went outta buisness

I gave up waiting for Industries7 to have a working website. Found an F1 Evo on another Spyder forum. Going to give that a try

Thank you all for your input! If this one does not work I plan to try the Madstad next...

Well I have had the F1 for a few weeks now. Could not be happier. The only negative my wife found is the loss of view. The dark portion is black with no see through at all. So for her just getting used to seeing the entire front end from the stock setup, will get a little getting used to. :spyder2::doorag:

When I have funds, I'll be getting the Madstad...it is more adjustable than the CHAD and is simply, IMHO, a nicer looking shield. I have spoken to the owner a number of times, and simply put, he is a quality guy with a great product.

I don't know why the makers of CHAD have been having such issues, but the Madstad will be the way for me...no question about it..

:agree:
I bought the robobrackets and his windshield only to find I was still getting wind buffering. I called Mark ( I think that was his name- It's been a while) and he said "no problem. I'll ship you the larger size and put the smaller one in the box and send it back to me"

I got the larger one 3 days later and sent the smaller one back and have been happy with my purchase ever since.

I like the fact tht the windshield doesn't look huge, but does a great job of buffering the wind.:2thumbs:

I get it. A lot of folks have had issues with the F1... I took a risk and bought one used. I am happy. The Madstad was my next choice and may later down the road.

Never meant to imply one is better than another. That is for someone else's personal choice... I like this model design wise because of where I live and that I choose to ryde rain or shine. This shield protects my body better from the rain than the Manstad I had in mind ever will.

I guess for anyone to make a choice they need to consider the job they have in mind for their windshield. So for me... I looked hard for an F1 because I knew the Madstad would not do everything I needed it to do. :2thumbs::doorag:
