Well I replaced the GPS. Here's some good pics. Took about an hour and a half.

BUT, the gear display still changes from 5 to 4 to 3 to 5 - just as before.
It still runs perfectly, just the display changes as you ride in 5th gear.

Ideas?

Hey LittleJohn, you say yours has been doing the same - does it still run normally?

Mine was happening between 3rd and 4th. It gave me a flashing 3, 4, E on the pos indicator, and the N and R lights were wagging as well. It cleared up after I puled off the road but threw the infamous non existant P0707 code which the dealer said didnt exist. They cleaned the connectors on the GPS, SAS, and ECM and Its been runnin good since,. I did get one flash of an E in 3rd gear once, but it went away too. I think Ive got a gps headed south on me, but it does not affect the engine or put it in limp mode (at least not yet LOL)
Hope that helps ya...though it probably just throws more non resolved isssues in your idea hat...LOL
