RS/S Givi Hard Bag Connector Strings

As I have seen so commonly, the screw that connects the cable that keeps the rubber string attached and prevents the lid from opening all the way down to the ground has broken out of its sad plastic housing. I have tried super glue with no luck, and read long ago about someone using a slightly larger self-tapping screw.

If you have fixed this, or used the larger screw, can you please advise as to how and what size screw should I use?

You might try some really good 3m epoxy to hold the screw in. I've had very good luck in the past with epoxy and plastic.
