RPM Gauge Working Occassionally

Recently my RPM gauge started acting strange. Sometimes it works fine and at other times the higher my speed and actual RPM the lower the gauge goes until it is at 0 RPM and as the speed and RPM lower the gauge starts to rise. Five miles later it is working fine and than starts over again later a few miles after that. Next day it works fine and the following it is acting up again.

Anyone else had a problem like this before?

I had the same thing happen on my 2010. The cluster had to be replaced. Fixed the problem.

My 2010 rt did just the same thing this weekend. would not get over 500 rpms but I was doing 70. next stop, and restart she was fine.

That is the way mine started then it got worse as time went on. Lucky it was under warranty at the time.

I'm guessing you mean your analog tach. I'm on my fourth cluster for that same issue. Your cluster will need to be replaced. Please note that your odometer will revert to zero with the new gauge. be sure to note the mileage, and take a dated picture, when you drop the Spyder off at the dealer.

I started another thread a while back on the same issue - but it's a heat issue for mine. When it's 90+ the gauges go. Below that, they're fine...

One of mine was much worse in the heat, too.

Thanks for the advice. I assumed if it was a bad lead that it would keep working and then failing again. Lonnie
