There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rough Start = Throttle Body Actuator?

I took my bike in for warranty work and told them about the recent rash of cold start problems (hard staring, rough running, stalling, engine warning light). They reflashed something and installed 2 grommets under the heading Throttle Body Actuator (warranty job).
I included this description: "if grommets are minssing or keep falling out replace them with new ones per BRP Bulleting"

Anyone one understand what they did or how this affects the bike starting?

I have also changed to non alcohol gas, 76 stations in my area contain none. You pay more but I just got my first 31 MPG with a mix of freeway, hiway and town driving. I may be a result of breaking but I am happy either way! :)

The grommet issue is separate from the throttle body Campaign 2011-0008. A BRP bulletin refers to the possibility of grommets working loose and dropping out of the Spyder's side panels with use. Replacing them has nothing to do with the throttle body or the running of your engine. ;)

This is what I thought but this is a quote from the service bulletin and the labor description for the work : Throttle Body Acuator. I had glued all my grommets in place something is wrong here, lol....

Thanks

Warranty Campaign 2011-7 deals with the throttle body. It calls for an ECM programming update to prevent the 2011 Spyder from overcompensating for previous hot restart problems, thus burning up the throttle positioner. I am surprised that they merely reprogrammed your Spyder after the problems you had. If any of four throttle body fault codes are displayed, they are supposed to replace the throttle body first. If you have a future incident, return to the dealer and have them repair it properly.

Warranty campaign 2011-8 is printed in the same document, and calls for replacement of one middle side panel grommet on each side.

Since my ride only has 800 miles on it maybe they thought they caught in time. Now I understand the work they did, thanks for all your help

I received my replacements yesterday in the mail. The dealership (Town & Country, Cement City, MI) was nice enough to mail them to me! They are definetely more robust.

Oh well, I had already replaced the grommets on my RT-S and since then I had my body panels off for other maint/mods and found two grommets down in the bowels of :spyder2: Now I guess I have two spares..:coffee:...
