Previously i posted how i installed a 1.75 Gallon Rotopax gas can on my aluminum trailer.

But after using it i have discovered that it rubs against the trailer and scratches both the trailer and the gas can, so i put a small 1/2 inch bracket behind the Rotopax mount and now it does not contact the trailer, see photos

Also i learned that tight is sufficient, too tight is not good because with fuel in the can in the sunshine it will expand the can slightly, so just make it a little tight.
