• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Previously i posted how i installed a 1.75 Gallon Rotopax gas can on my aluminum trailer.

But after using it i have discovered that it rubs against the trailer and scratches both the trailer and the gas can, so i put a small 1/2 inch bracket behind the Rotopax mount and now it does not contact the trailer, see photos

Also i learned that tight is sufficient, too tight is not good because with fuel in the can in the sunshine it will expand the can slightly, so just make it a little tight.

Like your set-up! Clean and easy...

We tied our Rotopax on top of the trailer. Needless to say, at the end of the trip the top was pretty chaffed. The dealer sent us a new top, no questions asked, for free.

Have 2 gal. Rotopax's and they would swell up quite a bit during the day. Had to retie them throughout the day depending on the expansion/contraction. Never had a leak.

Nice save..!!

Quick and simple solution. Good thing it was before it rubbed through..nice work! :2thumbs:

Rotopax in the frunk?

I bought one this past weekend with the intent to carry it in the frunk on my RT. It fits down in there perfect, does anyone know if that would be a problem spot to store it? Or when traveling on longer trips I could to put it in the 622 trailer. I think mine is a 1.6 gal.

Carrying it in the frunk should not be a problem as long as you are sure the cap is tight, I have caaried the REDA can (one Gal) in the side saddle bag on my RT and never had any problem. The reason i mounted it outside on my trailer was for more room inside.

 for piece of mind.
I have never needed extra gas but as you know, having it along simply lowers the tension level. I use the Frunk for misc. items such as tools, rolled up rain suit and anything else that will drop in there. The Rotopax can I bought slides in and fits perfectly. snug. I can still pack all my tools and usual stuff in front of it and on top of it.
