• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rolling Thunder revisited...

So, who else is interested in being at Rolling Thunder in D.C. in May? I have a buddy or two who want to do it...it's a long day and a long wait, but it's supposed to be one of the most exciting rides you can take...from Arlington to the Vietnam Vets Memorial, I believe...I have been a spectator on the street before (big crowds for this), but have never ridden in it...this year I will ride it! It's truly a parade of thunder!

It's patriotic and a total thrill...

Perhaps some of us can meet up to have a nice Spyder presence...

Thoughts?

I will be there to show off the new (patriotic) theme and trailer. I'm definitely up for a meet and greet and a nice pub or something.

Let's keep this thread alive and see if we can get more of us together for a group showing...I cannot believe there aren't more spyderlovers in the DC/Virginia/MD/PA region who wouldn't want to take part in such a great event...

BTW, if you have a flag mount, which one do you have and where did you get it? Also, what do you attach it to? I'm finally ready to buy one!

I live in WV but my daughter and family live in Springfield VA. I can crash there and would DEFINITELY be interested. I am a career naval officer, another 15 with DoD, and a Vietnam vet.

Thank you for your service. You'll have to have a pint on me.

I just wonder what nationality you are. :)

Rolling Thunder

Riding the :spyder: in from Richmond joining another rider from Stafford "bandwagon". As a Former Marine this will be my first Rolling Thunder ride. I know this will be a chilling experience.

My dad was (is) a marine...my wife an army doctor...

Let's keep the group going and get a list together...from there, perhaps we can organize to meet up at the event (somewhere in arlington) and ride together...perhaps we can convince Lamonster to entrust the banner to us?

AS I SAID BEFORE IN OTHER RESPONCES I WILL PARK TO THE RIGHT OF THE LINCOLN MONUMENT. NOT SURE WHAT TIME I WILL ARIVE YET BUT AS THE TIME COMES CLOSER I'LL POST THAT. KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE WE'LL HOOK UP THERE

I have to get the plans down for where we can and cannot go...if you've taken part before, then you're obviously ahead of me in this! The city will be quite busy that day!

I'VE BEEN THERE 3 TIMES THE LAST FEW YEARS. IF YOU WERE GOING TO GO UP THE STAIRS OF THE LINCOLN MONUMENT. OFF TO YOUR RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET IS A LARGE GRASS MALL. I GO THERE EVERYTIME I GO DOWN. YOU CAN RIDE UP THE SIDEWALK AND PULL RIGHT INTO THE GRASS.I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM THERE. EASY TO FIND AND LOTS OF PARKING. THEN I WALK ACROSS THE OTHER STREET AND UP THUNDER ALLEY. THAT IS WHERE YOU GET YOUR PATCHES AND THINGS. HOPE TO SEE A FEW SPYDERS THERE. AS I SAID I WILL BE THERE ON SATURDAY. MAY BE EVEN SUNDAY. NOT SURE ABOUT SUNDAY THO. LET ME KNOW

As a former Marine, I would really like to go. like the see the Viet Nam memorial. I've seen the traveling one but never the big one. Got a couple of names I would like to look up. Guys that I knew way back when.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year.
Someone give the memorial a salute from me please.

Sounds good...we'd have to figure a time well in advance of the actual 'parade' to meet...don't we then have to go to Arlington and 'line up'? As far as how the event is run, how do they determine order? Or is there any order?

SATURDAY IS JUST A MEET AND GREET. FOLKS JUST MILL AROUND AND GO TO THUNDER ALLEY OR TO THE DIFFERENT SITES OR THE WALL. GO OVER TO THE CEMETARY OR BUS TOUR. SUNDAY IS THE PARADE. IT STARTS OVER AT THE PENTAGON. I WAS NEVER IN THAT. OR EVEN KNOW HOW IT IS SET UP. MY HARLEY WOULD HAVE OVER HEATED IN THAT.BUT FOLKS WILL KNOW ABOUT THAT DOWN THERE.CHECK OUT THIS LINK TO FIND OUT MORE INFO. THESE GUYS START OUT ON THE LEFT COAST. OR TRY GOOGLING ROLLING THUNDER FOR MOR INFO. HOPE THIS HELPS. ONE THING ABOUT THE SPYDER IS YOU CAN SPOT IT WHERE EVER IT'S PARKED.
