• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rolling Backwards

Purchased my '14 RTS late in the game (Apr 2015). Seems that it too was fitted with tires from the batch of bad ones BRP was replacing in '14. Symptoms are the same. In my case, when I let go of the bars, the Spyder tends to drift right until I swap the wheels to the opposite sides. Then it tends to drift left.

(Jacob at Lamonster Garage did the alignment in June. Left was off just over 1/2 inch. Right was off 3/8. Both left and right were pointing left.)

My Spyder has passed the magic date so BRP refuses to replace 'em even "in good faith" although they know there was a problem.

Or maybe the tires aren't from the bad batch. Could it be with nearly 800 +/- miles of uneven wear, ie: scrubbing the right edge of both of 'em thanks to the misalignment, that that is what I'm experiencing?

Question now is what to do. Short of replacing them I've considered mounting the tires to the opposite wheels so they still rotate in the correct direction just to see what effect, if any, that would have. In spite of not being able to channel water away correctly, should I find myself in that situation, I've also considered running them backwards at least for the time being.

I'd like to hear what the Spyder community has to say!

If you swapped the tires and the pull switched sides then it is either the tires or wheels. If you have someone close by with an RT (with no handling problems) you could try putting their tires/wheels on your Spyder and see if that corrects your problem.

Now there's a heck of an idea! I've started the ball rolling with the closest RT owner I know. Results to follow.

Agree..!!

:agree: have seen dealers do this to find the wheel/tire problem. There were some 14's with front tire issues...

My dealer did this along with several other things. They decided the tires were from a bad batch and installed ones under warranty. I had 400 miles on my Spyder at that time. This took care of the major portion of my pulling problem. I did go ahead and get a laser alignment that helped even more. The subject of mileage did up on the tire replacement. My dealer said if I had many more miles on the tires, they could not have replaced them under warranty. My original pair also had an excessive number of weights on each wheel.
