• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Roller Coaster Ride, but RTS is Here!

Three weeks ago I bought a 2011 RSS and fell in love with it. I was addicted immediately. I joined this forum and was bombarded with a wealth of knowledge.

I realized already that I wanted to go on some longer trips, but I knew that the RSS would just not be comfortable enough for me. I first looked into adding numerous accessories to make the ride more comfortable, but Finally I came to the conclusion that the RTS would be much better. This decision did not come easily because the RSS is one glorious machine!

I decided to test drive the RTS and I couldn't believe how different it was. It was definitely not as fast, but the comfort factor was way beyond what I thought.

After going back to the original dealer and trying to work out a deal, I just felt like I was being raked over the coals. Luckily, Vegaspearlbaby recommended I try North Texas Yamaha and they worked up a deal that I was happy with.

To make a long story short (too late right) I am now the proud owner of a 2011 Pure Magnesium Metallic RT-S. As I was driving back, I had a smile on my face knowing that I made the right decision!

VEry nice choice in RTs, love mine

:congrats: I think. You had to have lost a chunk of change, "good" deal or not. That had to hurt. I'm very glad you are happy with the RT-S! You are fortunate to be able to put you happiness first. You are a lucky dog!!!

Miles of smiles on your new ryde!!! No question the RT is really something!!

Glad you got what you wanted. Question for ya - does North Texas Yamaha work on the Spyder also?? I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a reputable service department that wants to work on the spyders and has good customer service. Don't ever go to Cowtown in Ft. Worth, their service stinks. My spyder's been in their shop for two weeks now, no clue as to what the problem is, very rude on phone, so I'm picking it up Tuesday, working or not, and am going to find a service department that will fix it right.

Good luck with your new Spyder. good to see more Texas people on this forum!!

I'm pretty sure their going to be good with the service aspect. Troy introduced me to the service manager and he and I talked for about 45 minutes. He went through everything with a fine tooth comb. He went through all the services and at what mileage they happen. He gave me quick tour of the service department and introduced me to their Spyder guys. They have 2 guys that work primarily on the Spyders. He did tell me that it would usually take about 3-4 days to get it back to me!

We'll see how fast I hit the 600 mile service. I'll let you know how that goes.
