• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rode with a Motorcycle Legend yesterday

I had the opportunity to meet and ride with a real legend yesterday. Our American Legion Riders Post welcomed Dave Barr to Las Vegas yesteray. Dave is best known as the first double amputee to circumnavigate the globe on a motorcycle. Dave was a professional soldier who served in the Marines in Vietnam, in the Israeli Army and the South African Defiance Force. He lost his legs in a land mine explosion in 1981 while serving with the South Africans in Angola. He set the record in 1984 logging 83,000 miles on his trip around the world. He is in the Motorcycle Hall of Fame and is a motivational speaker. At 60 years old he is still logging some amazing miles on his Buell Ulysses.

There were about 12 motorcycles and 3 Spyders that rode from Las Vegas to Spring Valley, NV to greet Dave and escort him back to Las Vegas. Dave then rode with us last night on a Poker Run that raised over $1,500 for the fund to build a Ronald McDonald type house at the new Las Vegas VA hospital.

Even though it was really hot and we were dodging thunderstorms last night it is always a great day when you get to cmbine Spyder riding with raising money for our veterans.

Dave is a great guy. A real honor to ride with him and raise money for a good cause at the same time.

Makes my day to see and hear about good times and money being raised for our soldiers! Way to go!

I had the honor of riding with him on the "Run for the Wall" this year. Very impressive individual, no question. I thought it a challenge to go "all the way" with two legs, his achievement humbled me.

He told us about that trip and it sounded awesome. Welcome to Spyderlovers.com to you. Did you ride your Spyder on the trip?
