• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rock stuck in sprocket

My RT is only a month old, after stopping at a stop sign when I took off in 1st gear I experienced a loud knocking noise after shifting to second gear the noise sound got lower and then in third gear the noise went away completely. I brought it to an authorized dealer who informed me that the problem was a rock stuck in the sprocket, which caused damage to the belt and sprocket, also said not under warranty and wanted to charge me 800.00 to repair. has anyone had this problem in the past and is it common? I have not authorized the repair as yet. Please advise Thanks

Cannot offer any advise...BUT when I purchased my RT and because I live on 1/4 mile of gravel road...I immediately ordered and had installed the rock guard from Spyderpops...would highly recommend as I had read on this forum that rocks can be an issue just as you experienced...:gaah:

Thanks for quick reply didnt know bout the available rock guard will def look into this.

Very inexpensive and easy install. Spyderpops did a good job on it. if it saves me from even one experience like yours, it will pay for itself dozens of times!

Thanks for reply, will be close to MO in aug at Mountain Home AK for the southern cruisers national rally.

Beautiful area there. I used to deal with a vendor in Mountain Home years ago. There was a really twisty road we took down there that would be awesome on a Spyder. I can't recall the highway. But it wasn't 60. Seems like it was Hwy 6 or 9?? Anyway. If you are ever around Cape Girardeau let me know!

:dontknow:
A new belt cost around 3 hundred alone, Then there's the cost of the sprocket. Which one front or rear, The front sprocket cost about 60 dollars, And don't forget to add the cost of labor.

:welcome: I'm sorry to hear of your trouble. I know I am always very careful on gravel roads so as not to have this happen to me. I have installed the spyderpops guard also.
