• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Road Test & Resale Value

I have now purchased my third Spyder in three years. I own a 2008 5-spd, a 2009 SE for my spouse, and just bit the bullet on a new RT-S which is waiting for pickup at the dealer. (Need some more ice to melt here in AK before I can ride it). Put 20K miles on the 2008 and wife put 10K on hers the first year. I think thats pretty fair for a 65 year old rookie rider. Looking forward to another year riding, and cant wait to get on the RT-S. Anyone else out there that has all three years of spyders? The 2008 has been perfect mechanicaly and has performed flawless. 2009 Spyder computer crashed at 1.5K miles--but was replaced and we have had no problems since. We drove all the paved roads in Alaska last summer and had a great time doing it. Overall, I am very enthusiastic about the vehicle. We "Corbinized" and otherwise decked out the 08, and the 09 to the tune of 3.5K extra in accessories, so we have over 20K into each one of them. My big complaint is resale value on the Spyder. Dealer only wants to give me 13K on a trade towards the RT-S. Based on what Im reading in other posts--I guess this is pretty good. The bad part is that accessories seem to be worth little to nothing. My 2010 RT-S is probably going to remain pretty much stock. The up side is that it has basically all the stuff I want on it.

welcome

Accessories are almost always a wash, unless you happened to keep the stock stuff and put it back on before the trade in. After all, you cannot sell the machine without a seat, tires, exhaust, windscreen, and so forth. You are right about the $13,000 sounding good for trade in value right now.

ALWAYS keep your original parts unles you sell them right away. if you have em put the orginals back on and sell off your accessories on EBAY or here. Youll be better off.

Great things happen here. welcome

Sounds like a fair price on your trade-in. If you are going to sell-off accessories, please list them here. Plenty of good prospects!
