I live in a very rural area, our farm is actually surrounded by forest. Every ride I take has me riding through wooded areas and forest creatures of many kinds abound.
Today, I learned a very important lesson that is unique to SYPDERing. When you encounter road kill, what do you do? You DON'T want to straddle it with the front wheels and slam it with that big fat rear tire, especially if it is a skunk. Live with that odor for a while and you'll never do it again.
In the 2 wheeler days, I would just swerve around it. The spYder requires a different tactic. If there is room, go around it and proceed merrily along. If you gotta go OVER it, trying to thread it between the front and miss it with the back is a pretty exacting challenge.
SO - those going into the outlands for the first time, beware and like a good scout, be prepared.
Ride safely,
