• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Road Kill

I hit a deer going about 55 or 60 mph. Broke 3 legs and she went up and over my windshield, and landed in the ditch after which i went there too. No damage to RT shield was all the way up as I was playing around with it to see where it seemed the best for me. My ego shot all to pieces to say NOTHING of how scared I was!!! Poor deer:( finally got killed when the super trooper came out and shot it. She had pulled with the one remaining leg a good 300 ft from the side of the road. Her adrenilian was working overtime!!nojoke! She was small which was in my favor. Have had close encounters of the dead kind and have managed to swerve!!! RT's really can do that and stay on 3 wheels. Smaller kill like it was said, MOVE TO TRY TO GET THE KILL JUST INSIDE THE FRONT TIRE!! I haven't hit an armidillo yet! So not sure about them! Still think I can miss them. But their thing is to jump up when danger is there. SOOOO beware drivers. Swerving to miss is GREAT but only if no oncoming cars are there.:yikes:

A can void any road kill by installing:joke::joke::joke: a hydraulic lift to raise you clearance:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.

road kill

wait till you add another 2 wheels back there in the holes that the front and rear leave most trailers are 4 foot wide making you a cheese grader for anything on the road

i have taken smaller animals under mine no problems

took a possum with the rear tire just another high speed speed bump not really much worse than a good size pot hole

It wasn't road kill but I hit a big busted semi tire at seventy miles an hour on my way to the owners event in Durango. Came up on it at night in the desert, no time to swerve. It cracked the plastic on the arm bar but that was the only damage, if you don't count my nerves. I had Spyder Pops put a bump skid on before the ride back. Crazy enough, found myself in the same situation, albeit with a smaller piece of tire. Bump skid worked like a charm and I went right over it. Haven't hit any road kill since then (knock on wood) but I'd be confident with the bump skid for anything relatively small.

Night danger

I have a great deal of experience driving at night due to my occupation as a big rig driver for 15 years. Its called over running your head lights when you You are driving faster than your time to react and aviod an object in the road. On a motorcycle, I drive with my high beams on at night when posible and at a safe speed. Also I keep a safe following distance to allow me to dodge anything in the road.

The one thing I learned while a professional driver is that You will not likely avoid hitting a deer that runs across the road way in your path at close quarters either day or night. Every year people die or are injured by hitting large animals in cars as well as motorcycles. Deer are herd animals and if You see one cross in front of you, then you should slow your speed because more deer are soon to follow. The animal that gets You is one that You will not see coming.
