• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RIVCO Trunk Mounted Flag Holder

MEP

New member
Those who have installed/experienced the RIVCO trunk mounted flag holder...

1) does the mount stress any part of the trunk?
2) does the mount interfere in any way with fully closing the trunk?
3) any downside to the mount?

Thanks in advance.

No stress, fits perfectly
No interference
No downside
Great product by Rivco and they have great customer service.

I have the TricLED lights that mount in the gap below the truck lid. Is there and issues with clearance to the lights from the brackets. I know they may cover a few but I am worried about pinching or pushing the brackets out to the point the trunk lid interferes.
Has anyone installed the Rivco holders wit the LEDs!

Just make sure you use Locktite when you install it. Otherwise you could lose parts (don't ask me how I know). It's a pretty easy install. The only other problem I have with it is that the Nelson Rig Half cover doesn't fit very well in the back.

Same thing here... lights 007.jpg
Is there room to seat the Rivco mount in place; without compromising the strength of the attachment?

Well it does PRESS on the light strip and one local guy here lost 1/2 of this trunk lid lights but was not sure if it was because of the flag holder. The amount it presses on the strip seems that it could possibly crush an LED inside the strip maybe with a large bump or too big a flag.

I looked at his and went ahead and bought the flag holder myself and when I install it (maybe this weekend) I will 100% confirm if they could possibly damage the thin trunk lid LED strip in some way. All it needs to do is crush one of the LEDs to cause it to go out.

No problem at all (up to 94 mph for a short run), in fact I drilled one additional hole on each side and fly four flags or remove the outside flags and use the holes to support my 3 x 5 Flags for PGR / ALR events.

But you do notice it does sit right on the light strip?
Maybe not all of these line up in the same place. They guy I mention his was sitting and "pressing" on the light strip e.g. you could see it was compressing the clear rubber covering of the light strip. I do think it caused 1/2 of his strip to go out myself (crushed an LED) but impossible without removing them to tell for sure. If mine pressing hard on the strip I will probably elongate the mounting holes to give a little relief but still not interfere with the trunk lid.

Yup...
How can it NOT interfere? :dontknow:
There simply is no hole present in the cover, for this non-BRP accessory...

interfere with using the Can Am half cover?

It only takes a minute to remove (you unscrew four bolts, two for each flag holder), stick the flag holders in the trunk, and put the bolts back in. I remove mine whenever I'm on a road trip so I can put the cover on . . . and put them back on in the morning. Use Loctite Blue on the "acorn" at the top of the flagpole . . . they have been know to disappear, either by accident or intent.

You are going to have to turn your head or your PC . . . because I have tried several times, but these photos keep coming out 90 degrees off! Anyhow, this is where and how they mount . . . very easily done.

So do they screw into a nut on the other side or some kind of retainer? It's apparently not just into the plastic, right? Have you had issues with water getting into the trunk when it's been removed?
I would like to get this flag-holder to use on weekends, but I ride to work and use my BRP half-cover almost daily....'cuz I've caught people sitting on my Trike.

The trunk rubber seal is inside of where this mounts to it does not mess with that at all.
