• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RIVCO Trunk Mounted Flag Holder

Anyone adapted a full size brp cover for these flag holders. I now need to store outside and hate the idea of taking the holders off and then on. Right now i have them sitting in my closet

So do they screw into a nut on the other side or some kind of retainer? It's apparently not just into the plastic, right? Have you had issues with water getting into the trunk when it's been removed?
I would like to get this flag-holder to use on weekends, but I ride to work and use my BRP half-cover almost daily....'cuz I've caught people sitting on my Trike.

There are already bolts there . . . you simply remove the four existing bolts and use the chromed ones they supply to replace them . . . along with some plastic washers that act as spacers. Very simple, and, as I said, it just takes a minute to remove them when I need to put on my cover on a road trip. Very easy.

I have the rivco, flag holders but 2 ultra guard covers - one full, one half. Also have the luggage rack on the trunk (from diamond r) - either cover fits just fine with both the flag holders and flags as well as the rack on the bike.

Can I just unscrew the flag pole and not the 4 bolts ?
I too put my half cover on all the time.

But you do notice it does sit right on the light strip?
Maybe not all of these line up in the same place. They guy I mention his was sitting and "pressing" on the light strip e.g. you could see it was compressing the clear rubber covering of the light strip. I do think it caused 1/2 of his strip to go out myself (crushed an LED) but impossible without removing them to tell for sure. If mine pressing hard on the strip I will probably elongate the mounting holes to give a little relief but still not interfere with the trunk lid.

Outside mounting holes are elongated

I have seen two other bikes with these flag holders and they just put a slice in the cover where the poles are and it works out great. There are already two in the cover for the am/fm and CB, so two more doesn't hurt it at all. That's what I'm planning on doing..

I may be just the lucky one, but I ordered the dual flag poles from Rivco. Not very impressed with their customer support or shipping department. It was ordered as a gift so the ship-to address was different from the billing address. The first time it shipped, it was sent to the billing address instead of the ship-to address. That shipment had to be rejected. On the second shipment it was still shipped it to the incorrect address. It shipped to a non existent address on the same street. Luckily, we were able to call the local post office and they were able to redirect the package to the proper address. Several emails went unanswered so we had to make calls to sort this out. I have to admit, this is the most work I have had to do to ensure a product that I have ordered is delivered properly.

The product itself is of good quality, easy to install and i am looking forward to using it. However, the shipping department and customer service needs some work. I am not sure I could recommend Rivco to others. They do not seem to worried about their customers receiving orders that they have billed for.

Just my $0.02 worth....

In RIVCO's defense, I have made several purchases both on line and by phone and never had any issues.

Although I have had a problem with our USPS. I recently switched to a PO Box so I used my Street Address and PO Box as mailing address and of course our highly intelligent over paid government employees could not decide were to deliver the small package from MTD and decided to sent it back to the vendor.
