• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rivco Customer Service Came Through

Pam, I don['t mean to steal your thread, but I have those flag holders, and they really look nice. But, I did have trouble with the plastic clips that hold the flag to the poles, as the clips don't allow the flags to spin on the poles and the constant back and forth movement will break the clips. What I wound up doing was find some drinking straws that were just a tad larger than the poles, and some chrome washers with the holes just a tad larger than the poles and then some o'rings that fit the poles very tightly. So, on the pole starting at the bottom I have an o'ring, a washer, the flag with the straw in it, another washer, and then another o'ring, and then the top of the pole. I've had it this way for 6 months now and my flags don't get tangled, and I've never had one come off. If you would like, I can send you a picture, or attach it to this thread.

I'm happy that your story had a happy ending, I too have had really good luck with the vendors associated with the forum.

David

Well David, you were correct. I actually lost a couple of the clips on the first ride after installing. I used plastic drinking straws and placed a zip tie on the bottom. It seems to be working fine now.

Thanks,

Pam

I served in Chu Lai, Vietnam with the Americal Division (US Army) from 1968-1969. Thank you for pointing that out, because I too don't care for people displaying awards or ribbons they didn't earn

BTW, I turn 67 this month. Thank you for the compliment :dg1:

"I was stationed in Chu Lai with the Americal Division in 68 - 69 also. Welcome home.

Glad you made it work, keep on keeping on, and ride safe.

Flag Mounts

I have those flag mounts also and I love the looks of them. Only problem I have is lost one clip which was too tight to start with and would not go all the way on. The other three have worked fine. Only other problem is that with RT limited the air Bubble makes the flags fly backward at speed. Need longer masts for them and I think they would be alright.

I have those flag mounts and love them, but didn't like the small flags they sent so I went to http://sspflags.com/ and bought their 11 X 15 in flags. much nicer.

As much as I like the larger flags, I believe that https://www.rumblingpride.com/ is the only company that will replace a flag that has been used at highway speeds. Most other companies state that their flags are for parade use only. Just thought I would mention it.
