There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Risk of flats or other tire issues

Given the unique size of Ryker tires and specialized tools required for replacement, how many of you are going to be using tire sealant to avoid any possible surprises on the road? If so, what do you recommend and given the size of Ryker tires, how much product is necessary in each tire?

I have never had a flat in a front motorcycle tire; only rear. Conventional theory is that the front tire kicks up a sharp and the rear tire runs over it because it is in line. With the front tires away from the line of the back what is the probability? I know this is a second question rather than an answer. I'm just thinking out loud.

Not fond of those sealants and have always carried a plug kit and some c02 to fill her up till the next stop. If you have a blow out even the sealant won't help you and clean up is a pain....jmo

There are a vast number of plug kits and compressors out there on the market. As stated above, plug kits may be the best way to go. YouTube has some very good videos on how to use different types of plug kits, and how well or difficult they are to use. There are some plug kits out there that aren't even worth being using as a door stop.

As 2Dogs said there are lots of patch kits and compressors but your problem will be where do you carry them. I have a really good compressor from aerostitch.com and we have used it many times I highly recommend it.

I jinxed myself.

Since posting this thread, I have noticed that I been a losing roughly 5 pounds of pressure overnight from my front right tire. No visible signs of puncture or any damage. No sound of air seeping at all. Valve stem looks good. It's a mystery.

GOOD looking valve stems is meaningless ………… You need to check if the inside piece is tight ………….. I actually had one loosen on me , so it had a very slow leak. The actual tire didn't look low - but it was ….. only 8 psi in a Michelin Hydro-Edge, the strong sidewalls of that tire, were supporting the weight pretty well …. a Kenda would have had the rim on the ground at that psi …… Mike :ohyea:

Roadside assistance or plugs and a compressor. Oh Yeah, if you bring me a tire full of sealant it is going to cost you an extra $40 for the half hour it takes me to clean up my tools and work space. I tell folks that up front.

RykerUSA, take your wheel off, over fill it with air (not too much) and use a spray bottle with mixed soap/water and spray it all over the rim and tire. No bubbles? Take it to a tire shop and have them submerge it in their water tank. Or, use your bath tub if the wife will let you. LOL

2dogs, I did just that. Sure enough, I had a slow leak where the tire meets the wheel in one spot. I inflated up to 40 pounds and then popped it a few times with a rubber mallet hoping to better seat the bead. I think it worked but we will see as I check air tomorrow to see if I have any loss.

AAA possibly one of the better of the bunch.

You have to have RV coverage with AAA for them to assist with a motorcycle problem. There's a two week wait before coverage becomes effective if you upgrade during the year.

Spray some soapy water & look for bubbles, valve cap& elsewhere.
oops posted b4 reading rest of thread found has been solved:ani29:
