• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. i gave one more shot to rtsales also known as "spydercity" to come up with a solution for not being able to utilize handle bar lock with their riser block and answer was a "NO WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR SOLUTION FOR HANDLEBAR LOCK"

they capitalized, not i.
some may remember that i did purchase their riser block and have been asking for a solution for over a year and just got run around till now.
it's official.
i am guessing they were lying when they said they were working on it and waiting for me to just go away.
it is possible when they realized the shortcomings of their products that they can fix it but it may cost too much to justify or just not worth the time but i just don't think it's good business practice to give the run-around for a year.

Thanks for the update. I've been waiting to hear. They have lost my sale if that is the case.

That's really sad...I spoke with them about a year ago...before I got Evan's riser...at that time, they said they were working on something....yeah, whatever...they aren't a sponsor here...time to only support licensed dealers and sponsors..what a bunch of B.S. some people are!

i think spydercity IS a sponsor here.

Whoops! My bad then! I remember when several here were purchasing/evaluating the riser and the only concern was that the steering lock was compromised...it's a shame they won't address this after telling me (and others), they'd find a way around this...

If they are a sponsor, shame on them...they should offer refunds to those who purchased this item as you shouldn't have to lose functions of your bike with a mod...mods should enhance your ride, not take away from it...certainly, the steering lock is an important part of securing your Spyder...

That's sad. I contacted them with a question about the riser block and never received a reply. Instead I bought a 2" riser block from independencemachine on ebay and it works great- lock and all.

i found it but i wonder why this one works with handlebar lock and one from spyder city does not?
they are both 2" block.
anywho, if handlebar lock works and it's 79 bucks plus shipping!! it sounds like a winner.

I think if you go over 2 inches, you need a longer pin...2 inches should work just fine...

i had the 2 incher from spydercity but handlebar could NOT be locked but quassam is saying the 2incher from this vendor does let you lock the handlebar.

idk, may be one from spydercity was just a bit taller than this block.:dontknow:

I have the spydercity riser block it measured 3 inches in height cost me $125.00 no steering wheel lock. I really like the bars height now and feels alot better. :2thumbs:

i got the confirmation from the ebay vendor.
handlebar lock is NOT functional with their 2" riser block on.
may be qasamm could post his experience. i think he said handlebar does lock but i am not sure.

I just saw the recent posts to this thread and ran out to my Spyder in the parking garage. When I parked this morning I rolled the bar all the way to the left and locked it with the key. As I walk up to it and try and give the bars a push to verify they are locked... it turns freely.

Uggg. Placebo effect? I had been "locking it" each time I park outside of my garage but never noticed it was not catching.

Sorry for the false hope.:opps:

Just go's to show you don't need to lock it, Nobody stolen it yet.
I wonder if a good yank on the bars would snap the lock anyway?
I know on some two wheelers you can snap the lock. :yikes:

:agree:
Trading the comfort for the lock was well worth it for me and the price was affordable. The difference, I guess, is that I knew (from this forum) going in the bars wouldn't lock.

My thoughts exactly TEX.... I guess if someone REALLY wants to take the bike and they have the time to do it, the wheel lock isn't going to slow them down that much.
