• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding Spyders instead of......

For whatever reason this cracked me up. I rode by and yelled "Wide Hogs!" :roflblack:

Then we ran into them at a fuel stop and they weren't too happy to see us :dontknow:

So that's why all of those Trailer Queens always look so pretty...

I'd rather cover mine with bugs and RYDE to a location! :2thumbs:

Last time I was there--that was also very noticable. Lots of bikes around Sturgis--but to and from--most were being trucked or trailered.

There were also roving "fix it" trucks to offer service on the road for those that did drive.

Now if I was feeling mischevious...
I'd have put a sticker on the back of that trailer...
Shouldn't you be riding Hawgs?? :roflblack:

Some of my coworkers are in Sturgis this week. They trailered up (6 bikes) because they knew they couldn't ride that far in the allotted time. In talking with one of them, I guess they can't ride more than 1 - 2 hours without taking an hour break. :dontknow:

Fun Stuff

I just bought my 09 Black Spyder SE two weeks ago used (400 miles on it). It now has 600 miles as I drive 60 miles round trip to work in Tucson Arizona. Having a blast with it. Just bought seats and backrest for my wife and I to take our first road trip (when the temp gets below 105)....

Loving every minute.

In fairness... I can get a hell of a lot farther in a day -even on the same roads I ride the Spyder when I'm in my air conditioned car, which can go 450 miles on a tank of gas.

True, but I don't think that is the point. While I'm sure there are some who must trailer for 1 reason or another, many trailer just because they don't want to ride. If you don't want to ride, can you consider yourself a 'Rider'?

Lamont and I trailered to California one time so it can happen to the best of us. But Riders will always ride if they get the chance.

Remind me Lamont.... why didn't we ride that trip? I remember it cost me a set of 4 brand new tires on my trailer! :gaah:

I wasn't panning on them. That's basically what I was told. Those guys idea of a long days ride is 5 - 6 hours riding and 4 hours of not riding (gas, food, drinks, visiting, etc.) I kinda prefer that type of long ride myself.

I don't know why but I hate stopping. I wait until I'm running on fumes and my orange fuel light is flashing to get gas. Then I jam as much fuel as I can into the tank so I can do it again. When I'm riding alone I go at least 180 miles before I start looking for fuel.

I don't stop to eat but I do drink as much water as I can when I do stop.

I know, doesn't sound like much fun, and I wouldn't say that it is a lot of fun. But it's the way I like it. :doorag:

Well... I don't own a trailer and I'll spend 12 hours a day riding on a trip if need be. I love to ride. I see more, and feel better. However... when Leah reaches the ripe age of 3 or 4 and we start taking her camping, I will indeed have to get a toy hauler in order to bring the Spyder or what ever I'm riding then along for fun.
