• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Riding in the rain

I got caught in some heavy rain this past Saturday. I have a 2012 RT. Because of the design of the seat, I was sitting in a pool of water since the water was running down towards me following the slope of the seat. I have been on two wheels in the rain and have not gotten drenched in this way before.

Is this normal with the stock seat? If so, what have you done? Thanks!

Look into beadrider seats. They provide good airflow on warm days, and keeps your rear out of the puddle in your seat.

Since the RTs have a nice, wide, comfortable "bucket"; it will catch a lot of precipitation. :opps:
Sportbike seats arean't affected in this manner, because they're just shaped differently.
I always suggest the best raingear that you can find...
(In MY case: TourMaster, or Frogg Toggs)

GOOD RAINSUIT

Jen, did you have a rainsuit on? If you did the rain pooled on your seat wouldn't get you wet, my rainsuit Is always In the:f_spider: ready for a rain..

Thank you for the advice!

When we were out that day, I had my full gear on when I first went out (race boots, textile all weather pants and a jacket, gloves, and a full face helmet). I had jeans on under the pants and was sweating, so I rode without the overpants. I normally ride ATGATT, so this was unusual that I didn't wear motorcycle pants. Of course, something will happen every time I don't do the right thing, like here, I got soaked. I'm happy it happened since I won't ride in just jeans again. I did it because it was the Spyder and not one of my sport bikes.

I ordered Frog Togs for my husband and myself. We will also look into a beaded seat cover. I remember my grandparents had those once in their car :)
