• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Pics of 2020+ RT Daylong or Laam Driver's Seats?

Do yourself a favor and skip Laam.....Seth had quite the reputation locally (he has since moved to West Virginia?), but of course I didn't really find out until after I was in the middle of a seat build with him.

Seth was super cool at first so I had him build one for my Harley, but then he missed a couple of dates in the mean time and his attitude kept getting worse. That seat was horribly uncomfortable at first, so it had to be adjusted, but I was kind of married to him at that point.......He got even more weird and pissy (like he was on drugs or crazy) about having to make the change. In the end it came out nice. I'm a firm believer in under promise/over deliver so you come out the hero everytime and this is how I run my business........I had this discussion with him, but IDK if he every implemented the idea or not.

I'm working with RDL (also local to me) right now on a seat for my KTM Super Adventure and so far the experience has been good and the operation is MUCH more organized and professional than Laam's. Hope to pick it up this week and get some time ride time in between rain storms!

I had Laam do the seat on my past F3S and was very satisfied. What soured me with him on my RT seat was his attitude toward some of my ideas. I was pondering leather inserts, and he strongly advised me against it. That's Ok, but he didn't bother to send me any samples of vinyl/leather I requested. He actually stated "I have to see if my wife has any postage stamps to send out some samples" !! Never got any samples. Jay at Russell day Long has been great with sample requests and answering questions. That's why my seat is now at Russell.

I suspect Seth is struggling with high demand and hasn't taken the necessary steps to handle it. Could just be poor business management skills or a mental health issue.

I can sympathize with anyone who struggles with mental health........In my case I have SEVERE sleep apnea (untreated till about 5 years ago) and that combined with seemingly impossible skilled labor shortage issues was stunting my business growth, but I never over promised so nobody was trash talking me about delivery times because I was ALWAYS on time even if I had to stay late or work weekends.

I initially tried Seth Laam when I was first looking to choose between him and Russell some 15+ years ago. He never answered any emails, and I could never reach him on the phone. I went with Russell and have never regretted the decision……and having seen some of the experiences with Seth mentioned on this site, I really would not feel comfortable recommending him. On the other hand, Russell Daylong, with Jay as their front man, have provided exemplary service to me, even once meeting the cost of shipping from/to Australia for adjustments when one of my seats proved to be uncomfortable. (The shaper had read my leg length incorrectly)

OK, I am having a heck of a time getting my passenger seat installed. Any Tips or tricks? Thx.
