• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

6 Harley buddies and me and my Spyder spent the last two weeks riding in Colorado. We are all from Ohio.We stayed at the KOA in Montrose.I rode about 3,000 miles and the Spyder ran great unless I shut it off when we were above 9,000 foot elevation. It would start but only run at about 800 rpm.It just didn't like that thin air.I would coast it down the road to a lower elevation and at about 8000 ft.it would speed up to 1400 rpms and i was good to go.It would run at those higher elevations as long as I didn't stop. The bike is a 2014 STL SE5.It now has about 39,000 miles on it.I have always enjoyed riding in Colorado.we have been out there several times and will go back in a few years.

Gold Camp Road

There is a great road that runs from Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek/Leadville called Gold Camp Road. It's an old D&RGW right of way. I drove it in a car when I was stationed at Fort Carson in the late seventies and remember just how beautiful it was. I'd bet it's astonishingly beautiful on a bike. If I ever get back up that way, I'm going to retrace my steps and ride Pike's peak.

Colorado is an awesome motorcycling state, I wish I lived there, to be honest. Me and a bud did some adv riding there in June. A bit long, sorry. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DV1Cu-74hGc

About your Spyder not running at elevation, not normal as you probably know. In other words, "they all don't do that" :D . Not a mechanic but wondering about a blocked vent line somewhere or fuel cap malfunction. With pressure changes, maybe it's squeezing something that don't like to be squeezed.

We live in CO and our spyder always starts and idles properly above or below 8000ft. Something is not right, and does sound like an air supply or vacuum issue. Check to see you don't have any cracked or collapsed hoses or leaky fittings.
