• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Respect and Discipline

What we don't know, and probably never will know, is if this incident may have been the final straw for him. He may have been overly aggressive in the past and this was just once too often. I heard on the news that the officers are trained to never physically let go of a suspect, which he did when he tossed the girl across the room.

Being a cop is tough, and the job often attracts "cowboy" or "macho" type people. Of course you have to be that way to a great extent if you're going get the job done, but at times the officer goes too far. I have a neighbor who was a California police officer and was let go at about age 45. I don't know the reason, if it was a general force reduction or what. What I do know is his ex said he has never gotten over, even now 20 years later. He still throws his weight around and likes to make like the "I'm better than you" guy. I had an argument with him about HOA responsibility for our lawn irrigation system. He's our HOA president. I went back and apologized later. You know what he said, "There was a time that if you talked to me like you did today I would have arrested you!" Arrested a person simply for a heated verbal exchange? You've got to be kidding. What an a**hole! :banghead:

When we have a country full of lawyers just dying for a case like this....how can it get any better? Kids pressing charges against their own parents these days? Punks pressing charges against cops because THEY were breaking a law in the first place. Poor parenting, broken homes, no role models, and certainly no reason to fear ANY authority figure these days. She got what she had coming, however it should have been done WITHOUT the audience.
