There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ever since Lamont posted this photo below of the 2012 Neutron green RS I have been in love with this machine. We got a chance to see one yesterday in person and I have to say I'm disappointed. I have been talking this color up for months, now I have to bite the bullet. This is only my opinion on the color since I did not even bother to test drive it to comment on the handling.

I love the green base color but IMO the whole bike lacks shine. The flat black on the front looks worn and faded. Also......... and this is major, once I touched the frunk and fenders with my fingers, the fingerprints I left would not come off. I can't imagine how the paint would look after a few years. :yikes: This must happen with the Phantom panels as well. :dontknow: If it had a gloss finish on the bike it would be better. IMO to be perfect to me, it should have had a gloss green frunk, fenders, top cover under the handlebars and have gloss black side panels like the earlier models.

I am impressed with how BRP added the color to the lower front spoiler. I also like the rim style better than my 08. The custom seat cover must be standard now, and was a great move on BRP's part. Great job BRP for staying with black on the rims and foot peg brackets. My 08 silver ones look aweful and out of place.

The body style has not changed much, so I will be keeping my 08 until the style changes or the new color is a must have to me. I can't justify making the switch to a SE until then.

Hey...Wait a minute! Holly could always be given a schedule for washing and waxing the Spyder!

Nothing that a good clearcoat wouldn't cure. I am not smitten with the satin finish paintjobs, either, so I feel your pain. It doesn't matter anyway, we all know that Holly wants an RT, and that's not available in green. :D

I think any of the matte finishes would be a nightmare to keep clean unless you just sprayed it down with something that took the matte away. If I were to get a matte finish Spyder right now my last choice would be the green. I really like the copper Spyder and the black Spyder but once again it would be hard to keep it looking good. :doorag:

They are working on LED sheets for wall and ceiling lighting. Just imagine vinyl graphics with remote control color changing capability. Put that together with Pete's imagination for graphics. Color changes with your mood or desire for that day.

:agree: Although I like my wife's Black/Orange paint sequence, the black is a little dull (which is fine by me, but it does make it a PITA every time it gets dirty). She loves the color, and I think she wants to look for a way to reflect our dogs more...:dontknow:

My next project (when I get the $$$) is to look for some kind of wrap to sequence my Gray :spyder2: and trailer. We will see what the future brings!:coffee:

The flat black panels were one major reason I chose the Silver/Gloss Black RS-S over the Copper/Flat Black color. Also these stylish colors may not look so "in" a few years from now (think coppertone kitchen appliances). Better to stick with the classic colors and add custom graphics if you want to make it your own.

If you were hell bent on the green you could always replace the flat black panels with gloss black units purchased from BRP parts. Kind of an expensive option but you could probably sell the flat black panels to someone who likes the look and wants to change their Spyder to a phantom. Or vice versa you could buy the Silver/Gloss Black RS-S and then buy the green panels and sell the silver. Whichever option is cheaper. Or of course you can simply have them painted to any color you want.

IMHO the Phantom Spyder is still the coolest Spyder. That's why it was an option kit for over $1K. You all may like your gaudy colors and graphics but don't call a Phantom a base coat Spyder. Gaudy colors and graphics are not the new black. :roflblack:

Also, it is not hard to take care of. The matte black pieces clean easily with just about anything and really bad dirt washes away with a little soap and water. Unlike gloss black the matte does not water spot much.

Bet your glad u didnt keep calling it Arctic Cat green??:roflblack:

The flat color panels are the main reason I'm not buying another spyder, I hate the look and any phantom parked beside mine looks like crap......I'm still holding out hope that BRP will offer a Gloss Black and Orange is the next few years

OK , I am the odd ball here. I like the matte finishes especially the matte 2011 orange and the phantom. I would have gotten a 2011 matte orange spyder but it did not come in an RT model:banghead: However I also agree that the matte colors would be hard to keep clean

I also feel your pain. I am in the wait and see mode also. Bigger engine, changes to the RTS in styling or whatever, and some additional color choices. I currently like the Red, White, and Blue colors offered--and I was not even thinking patrioticly. (spelling?) Black Cherry sounds pretty nice. 11 and 12 were not that different from my 2010 RTS--so I decided it was not worth it to take a hit on trade in on the new models, or to try to sell outright either.

Love the color, but.......

That Neutron green has really grown on me, but I sure wouldn't want it in matte!:lecturef_smilie:
Too bad they don't offer it in more than the matte finish.:dontknow: Anyway I won't be doing anything with my Full Moon Silver for a long time......this has always been my favorite color. Anxious to see what else BRP will be offering in the next couple of years.

Count me as odd also. I love the matte finish. Both of em.
