• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing the battery

Sorry to be reposting. To replace the battery, does the whole rear lower panel including the side case come off? Too far into this to stop now!:banghead:

It is not necessary to remove the side case, as I recall. The left side cover and the battery access cover under the seat should do it. Theoretically the access cover alone may be sufficient, but the rear side cover helps. Remember, to remove that cover you have to remove the mirror, deflector, and other overlapping covers as well.

Battery removal

Howdy. When you are unable to have enough clearance to wiggle and lift the battery out, Lamonster told me to bend the black, metal flange holding the battery near the "bottom" of the battery, where the strap clips on.

Good Ryding.

replacing battery

Okay Scotty (et al) Access is open and side panel off and terminals disconnected and retaing strap removed. There is a metal clip still holding the battery. This a "10 RT. Will the battery slide to the rear? It can't slide forward. Or do I have to pry up the clip? Tried it Eureka! battery is out. Now if it just goes back together. Got rid of old mud dobber nests too

NOTE TO SELF: Replace the battery when it's convenient to do so; NOT when it's an urgent matter!
