• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Replacing Coolant Tank

I've talked myself into doing this on my own. I've ordered and received the coolant tank but silly ole me:joke:, i forgot to order the otiker(??) clamps to replace the existing. Can these be replaced with standard hose clamps? And Spyder fam, please reassure me in that this is not an overly difficult thing to do. We're talking 2 bolts holding the framea and two clamps... then you have your hoses. nothing more right???

I've worked with machine repair groups for 40 years, from Nuclear, to Automotive to Steel Mills. and in my humble opinion any quality (Ideal) hose clamp will work fine. My dad even showed me how to use bailing wire for this purpose:yikes:

I did it on the RS I had & it's really simple. Longest part took to remove body panels to get to tank. I cut off old clamp & put same size from hardware store. No problems the ones that Brp puts on from factory need a special tool

The replacment coolant tank is the one sold by BRP purchased from online retailer... i need a special tool to install it??? Please tell me that's not so!

I have all the panels off the bike right now as i'm wiring in new lights.

No special tool to install tank. simply squeeze tabs on sides to remove old. I just removed the one clamp on bottom of tank & removed.

Little checking..!!

most auto parts stores sell kits to replace those clamps. They work better with the special clamping tool. On the other hand worm drive hose clamps work just as well with the advantage of being able to remove and re-installed..brp uses 1 worm drive clamp on the radiator...your call..!!

Thanks All

I was able to remove and replace the coolant tank .Thanks everyone for the advice... taking her for a test drive when the sun comes down a little more:yes:
