There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Replacing barrel lock on RT-622 Trailer

Has anyone changed locks on the RT-622 trailer? I purchased the trailer from another individual. I want to install my own barrel lock which is keyed to my Spyder. Can the old barrel lock be removed without the previous owner's key or do I need to get their key? The previous owner is 1200 miles away.

We have been through the nightmare of replacing the barrel lock on my wife's trailer. First time the original owner we bought the 2010 RT from lost the barrel that came with the Spyder so I decided to change out the lock myself and had a local locksmith key a new barrel for her trailer to the Spyder ignition.

Bad idea. I followed the instructions but could not unlock the trailer once it was installed (not a good idea when her purse, and helmet are in the trailer). We finally had the dealer get a locksmith to drill it out and they installed another barrel. I tried the 'the barrel was defective' argument on the dealer but unless they did the original install they were not going to be responsible. (this was a reasonable stance).

When my wife got her new 2012 RT, we had the dealer take out the old trailer lock and install the new barrel. Cost less than $35 and it was well worth it.

My advice is to let the dealer handle it.

you can do it

i had the same problem, dealer tried to sell me a new latch, what happens it that the cylinder that the tumbler slides into has slide back enough not to let the little latch on the tumbler to extend down enough to lock into place, after removing the latch assembly from the trailer it is about a 5 minute fix. any questions let me know, 740-397-1895 from 7:30 to 4:00 pm monday through friday

Hi, I have a 2010 RT 622 Trailer and I saw what you said about your problem. I was wanding how the dealer got the old lock out and what did he do to fix the problem???? I said my trailer is a 2010 and my Spyder RT is 2011. I thought any year lock would work in any trailer. Is that right?? Thank you for the info
