• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Removing light scratches from plastic covers on Spyder

3M 39007 Imperial Hand Glaze

Use sparingly and do a small area at a time. This stuff is a bear to remove if you allow it to dry very long. It will leave a nice shine, but is not a protective finish so after use you will need to use the wax or polish of your choosing. Read and follow the directions and it does a decent job. It is a very mild compound and is supposed to be for new paint that hasn't fully cured yet, but it does a good job on light scratches.

I have used 3M super Duty Rubbing Compound to bring oxidated and scratched fiberglass (FRP) back to life. It will probably remove the clear coat. But that can be easily reapplied..... Good luck

Plastic scratches

I have used the following on both our Gold Wing and our Spyder. The scratches on the GW were on the windshield from varies reasons. I have had minor scratches on our 2014 RTS and have them removed. The product is" Meguiar's Mirror Glaze. One product is called clear plastic ppolish and the other is clear plastic cleaner. I have used the cleaner more than the polish. They can be ordered on the internet at meguiars.com. Hope this helps.

Watching this thread with interest. I had a electric power line come down in the middle of my lane. Hit the brakes & swerved but couldn't avoid it hitting the Spyder. Hit the right hand side by the windshield, then the storage compartment. Got black marks, scratches, and some missing paint. Missed Nan's leg by about 2 inches. Left if for this spring, to fix.

+1 on the Meguires. This what many light plane owners us to remove scratches from their plexiglass. I have used it for years on my other motorcycles but not on the Spyder, but I can't see why it wouldn't work on the Spyder as well as the plastic on my Venture. If I remember right you want #17 (cleaner) and #10(polish)
