• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Removing Headlight Central Fairing?

Hi guys, new member here. Just purchased a 2021 RT Limited and thoroughly enjoying the experience after years of 2 up Goldwing touring.

At this point, I just have one question. How do you remove the plastic panel between the left and right headlights, just above the frunk lid. According to the parts diagram it is called "Headlights Cental Fairing - part #3900". Its my understanding that the coolant cap and code reader port are behind this panel.

I've tried just pulling straight out on it, but it seems to be trapped on both ends by adjoining panels. Just don't want to break something, so a little detailed help with this would be appreciated.

By the way, great forum!

Cheers

grab the center fin area and pull. It wont break. The tabs on the ends are not that big and wont break. You will understand once it is removed. Make sure the hood is open.

What Joel said. If you're a bit nervous about just ripping that off, try to pull up in the middle whilst holding down on one end. Once that end pops out (and it will), pull it free from the other side.
