Red oil drops noticed near left A arm - anyone run across this before?

This morning I noticed several drops of red oil below my left A arm area. Very much hydraulic fluid like in appearance. I assume there are no red fluids in the F3? My thought is that, as I cleaned and oiled my K&N filter that this is residue drop off over night leaking out of the air cleaner area. I have never seen this before, but it is the only thing I can think of. Anyone run across this before?

Some think that if a little oil on the K&N filter (or any oil impregnated filterer) is good, more is better - when actually, you want to use a very small amount of oil on these filters. If there is enough to settle at all, you've used too much. You'll need to remove the filter (I'm assuming a 1330 engine), wipe clean the filter cavity, remove excess oil from the filter and reinstall.

I hear ya. First time I have seen that with a K&N filter (and I have owned and serviced several). However, I must have been a bit trigger happy yesterday. I did let it sit vertical, on a white paper towel, for a while before inserting (no oil residue indicated). However, it looks like gravity took its toll over night and shows over servicing.

Easy fix, and you're not the 1st one. Just kind of a mess once it gets to that stage. At least it's not a blown shock!
