These new F3 Spyders are impressive and look extremel well thought out, don't know about the rest of you but with all the attention and the great lineup of accessories the new F3 is getting and has, us RT, ST and RS owners are feeling like (as the saying goes) the red headed step children of the Spyder Line up!

I don't feel that way, at all. I bought my RT to tour, and that is what I do with it. It's performance, comfort (and flaws) have not changed one bit since the F3 was unveiled . . . nor do I expect it to do so. I do hope for improvements with the heat, with regards to the cat . . . but perhaps the NHTSA investigation will resolve that . . . and, if not, I'll take action, myself . . . .

May well bring some resolution to RT owners, but I for one am too old to wait ten years as was the case with GM. I understand that GM withheld information, but BRP has done the same thing, just for a shorter period of time. In the investigative papers, NHTSA found out about one of the two fires they are looking into from this forum, not from BRP. I have an ongoing case with BRP, & they won't answer my Emails. With regards to the heat, take a look at this:

This under the seat temperature reading was taken after a 1 hour ride in 75 degree weather. Does this seem "normal" to anyone? It doesn't to me.

Not at all...
The ST was brand new in 2013, and the RT got a complete makever last year... :2thumbs:
My guess, is that the RS will be re-born in 2016. :thumbup:

I don't think so... The RS represents the "crotch rocket" design with the way you sit.
The RT represents the "goldwing" crowd
The F3 represents the cruiser type.

If anything goes, I'd bet on the ST...

Bottom line, BRP will probably watch to see which line drops in sales as a result of the F3, and decide from there.

You might see the RS taken in an even more "Sporty" direction...
But that's a discussion best left for next year's "Silly Season".

it does seem the F3 has launched with a lot of accessories more than the other models at their debute. As I see it the ST and the F3 will be jockeying for position. With no sales stats we don't know what position that is. The RS is your entry level model but I could not justify the price difference for the RSS. If they are going to have a crotch rocket model I would think they would work on the RSS upgrading it or dropping it altogether. Unfortunately I feel the RS will always be the GS/RS that started it all. Love mine...!! :thumbup:

RS Entry level.. 600 cc ACE engine, simplified bodywork and electronics: lower piricing
RS-S Will this be the year that the 998 gets more hair on it's chest? Yes, and it'll also get a new chassis; perhaps even a "leaner".
F-3 The Powercruiser
ST The Sport Tourer.. the 1330 will finally make it's appearance.
RT The land yacht. It'll get new mirror mounts, a better stereo, and hopefully: larger saddlebags.

Now; If anybody else wants to take a stab at the future; my Crystal Ball is off the table...

The accessories/options for the F3 are understandable because it's such a bare-bones Spyder to begin with. The other ones come pretty much self-equipped, especially the RT.

I'm surprised people are feeling bad about their Spyders just because BRP has expanded the product line. If you liked your RS or RT or ST last week, don't you still love it? Now go ride the heck out of it and enjoy yourself!

If I wanted to look like a Harley rider I would have bought one and their gear. I am not impressed with the lack of protection the F3 gear has. All for that scruffy Harley look imho pandering to that crowd. Love my padded gear dress for the slide not the ride. A helmet with no shield and bike with no windshield wait for it..... SPLAT in the face.

Patti, I agree with you. I love my ST-S. I don't know the entry pricing for the F3 but it looks like bare bones as far as features. It looks like someone could spend a whole lot of $ to equip it with a wind shield, luggage, etc. By then the price might be in line with the ST or RT.

I am willing to bet a coffee that we will see some kind of movement on the RS in the 2016 season. A lot will depend on sales and what goes on with the F3 market. Bigger engine, restyle, smaller engine, restyle? I am guessing it will still be around though. The company needs a "lower price leader" because $20K is just to much for the cheapest :spyder2:. That would price the line out of the market for those new people that they seem to be currently seeking. :bbq::bbq:

Love this response! The GS/RS (i.e. the first child) has been around for what, 6+ years, and has been part of the focus of Can Am for that entire time. However, it seems Can Am didn't want to raise an "only child" but decided to add to its brood. Being a cruiser lover, with each new model, I have sat on the sidelines for all these years waiting for Can Am to come up with a toy for me, and it's finally arrived! :yes: I like that it is bare bones, since that is how I've ridden all of my cruisers. If I needed to go on a long trip, I could add some throw-over bags and a detachable windshield and be good with that. If I needed anything more, the next town is not that far down the road. The F3 stands by itself as a cruiser in its place in the family, but will be what you want it to be depending on how you equip it. If you don't like it, don't buy it, very simple. I love power cruisers and if the F3 proves to be great in the twisties as well, that's a huge bonus that I will embrace. Love your current bikes for the reasons you originally purchased it - I plan to love mine!hyea:
