• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Red foglight?

While following a co-worker to work the other morning he told me my right foglight was changing colors from white to red and blue.I didn't think much of it at the time because it looks fine when the Spyder is sitting still but I noticed it myself in the reflection on the truck in front of me on the way to work today.I have never heard of this would this just be a loose plug or could it be the bulb itself?:dontknow:

This is one that I think we'd all like to see a video of. I don't know what could cause it, but I'm not very fluent in electricity... :opps: A loose connection could (I suppose) cause the bulb to be heating and cooling off, but would that affect the perceived color? :dontknow:

I would think that you have a bad connection, thus getting less voltage to the light. This would cause the filament glow red/orange rather than white hot.

I agree, but it looked pretty cool, and certainly makes whoever is in front of me nervous.Perhaps I can get both lights to work this way for "Police Mode":roflblack:

I believe Scotty has explained this before but and quite remember the whole facts. It was something to the fact that it is due to the type of headlight the Spyder has that gives it the appearance of changing the colors and seems to jump around at times.

Funny colored fogs

When traveling with a group I noticed some changes on some bikes. If I meet a spyder coming at me the lights disappear if they are going down hill, when back up again they can be really white, then turn to a yellow. Seems they have that special property of changeing colors. Kinda neat in some ways.I rarely get to see one coming at me and have totally wondered WHAT IS IT, with the lights!! I thought it was a car!!! BTW somebody was sorta complaining about other ryders not waving.I don't think they realize it's another byke till you are gone!!! I think they think it's a small foriegn car with fogs on. I have had them look right at me like "WHAT"S IT!!" If I am behind a car or truck they didn't see me till it was too late. Oh well. I waved anyway. Wishing all a Great ryde and a safe one. :2thumbs:

Your answer is the halogen bulbs coupled with the projector style headlamp glass. They all do it. Some may do it more depending on how loaded down you are and how your suspension is set.... And yes, you can get weird effects if the bulb is going.

The first day I had my moto lights on the spyder with the stock white MR-16 bulbs, coupled with the stock spyder lights, Doc thought we had a state trooper behind us... when it was just me. Every bridge seem or bad section of road would change the viewing angle to the bulb and reveal a different part of the light spectrum through the projector lens.

Quite Normal. HID's tend to alleviate this.

I have seen that also, when I used to have another Spyder follow behind me. I am thinking it may be something simple like the lenses on the lights reflecting the lamps funny.

We have halo LEDs around our front lights and fog lights. We had numerous people pull onto the shoulder of roads in CT and SC when we were behind them...guess we were in "police mode" too :roflblack: All we need is a siren and bullhorn!

Fog Lights

DocRags, don't forget the doughnuts! Then you will be a proper LEO!!!:roflblack:

:agree: When I follwed my wife on our RT she said that the lights looked to be changing color and flashing . At the time we were travelling over a bumpy paved road. I have noticed the same effect on cars with projection headlights
