• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Received BRP Saddle Bags & Rack !

I have a XL Sy Max II full face helmet. I did get it to fit in the bags. It was a snug fit, but IMO not too bad. Just a little extra pressure to get the bag to close. I tried it serveral different ways to make it fit. There a pic in my album titled "MY SPYDER MOD PICS" Sorry, I need to learn how to post pics here.

The bags should fit the BRP rack setup just fine - not sure about ordering the rack by itself. I would think your dealer could order what you need - but it might be easier to order the whole thing and see if the dealer will take the unused GIVI bags back////

I am not so sure the dealer can get these parts. Our experience is that even though there are part numbers for the accessory bits, the dealers often cannot obtain them. Waithed 15 months for a decal for the foglights, even though there was a number in the instructions. For the BRP racks, there are 27 pieces without the bags or color panels. Chances of getting all 27 are kind of thin, IMO.

Here are some install pics with some notes---- didn't really have time for a 'step-by-step', but hopefully these pics will clear some things up.

Thanks Firefly.

I just ordered the bags, comfort seat, and passenger foot extensions; was on the :spyder: when I went to the dealer, so I gotta go back in the car to pick the stuff up

Next, a C.H.A.D. Windshield and possibly new lights from NMN.

Firefly, you did a good job on your Spyder, looks awsome!
Do the bags have built in turn signals, or brake lights?

Firefly,
Thanks for posting the instructions and pics. :bowdown:I finally got around to adding the bags and comfort seat this weekend and couldn't be happier. From a design standpoint, it looks like the bags complement the width of the front end and balance the whole bike - IMHO.

The bags come standard with reflectors only. Please also note that you must order the color panels to complete the bags...and to hold in the reflectors. NMN has announced his Givi Genesis lights for the bags, which should be available soon.

No built in lights. The turn signals get moved during the install. NMN has some light kits for the GIVI bags that I'll be taking a look at soon!

BRP Saddle Bags

Based on comments and reporting from Firefly on the BRP saddle bags, I'm on the verge of ordering a set, but before I do that I'd like to get a fresh perspective from Firefly and others that have them on to determine if they're still happy with them. What do you guys and gals say?

In addition, assuming everyone is still happy, where's the place to get these? Is there a vendor that I should contact? I know my local dealer will charge an "arm and a leg" for them. Is there someone more economical?

Appreciate any advice/guidance.

I love the bags - had them on a few weeks now and basically leave them on all the time. Been able to do far much more shopping with them on - they have been just great. I have not done an overnight with them yet - but they will be just great for that. Been leaving my topcase on too - works just great.

I got mine from robsperformance.com .

Brp Bags

Firefly--Thanks for the info. I've sent the Robs Performance folks an email.

Thanks,

A really nice look. I like the Black silver combination. I too have ordered the Corbins and plan on leaving them on the bike all the time. Still a nice sleek looking bag.....Thanks for the pictures

Givi bags were added thinking they would be nice for trips. Since putting them on, they are never off. They provide so much convenience for around town riding as a place for jackets and helmets while leaving trunk space available. They really add some balance to the back of the bike offsetting the wide front profile. Whether I7, Givi or BRP version, they are a great addition. Price and turn signal location are your choices. While the quick disconnect feature of the BRP design is great, I doubt that you will be taking them off very often. I think the big advantage of the BRP quick detach bracket is for maintenance, access to battery, etc. Some don't like the look of Givi rear fender turn signals and some don't like the stalks that BRP uses, but it's really about the convenience of the cases.

Right on!:2thumbs: :ohyea:

Firefly,

We also had the saddlebags, passenger extensions and seat installed. The Spyder looks great. Mine is gloss black with all the upgrades. My question is, I have a Hindle muffler and I noticed that after the saddlebags were installed, the muffler sounds louder. Did you notice this change in your bike as well? The saddlebags were installed by our local Can Am dealer. Your bike looks great by the way. Thanks.:ohyea:
